This was my second stay at ARA. I really like this beautiful place. As a volunteer you have a lot of contact with the cats and dogs. It is also a great oppurtunity to meet other travelers, because there are always around 10 to 15 volunteers in the shelter. I learned a lot about dogs from the professional dog trainer.

I volunteered at the shelter for the fifth time and each experience couldn't have been better. The staff do an amazing job - by making the volunteers feel at home immediately, but also and above all by caring for the animals passionately. The work at the shelter (cleaning, walking, socialising with dogs and cats) does not really feel like work because it's so much fun and you get a lot of free time to explore the beautiful the shelter. The accommodation is shared with other international volunteers, which is perfect for socialising :) Can't recommend this place enough!

ARA is truly the best & most heartwarming place I've ever been to!! Everyone does their best to help the dogs & cats and it's the best shelter I ever saw. <3 You'll meet the greatest people there & surely lose your heart to some animals ❤️‍🩹 Everyone needs to go there to experience this special kind of magic!! We had again three amazing weeks at ARA. Its great to take part in helping animals on their journey to a new home. At ARA there is a dog trainer coming twice a week that gives very usefull advice on how to train dogs which helps a lot to make them more ready to be adopted. Furthermore, its also great to work with many other volunteers and we will certainly come again.
