I volunteered at the shelter for the fifth time and each experience couldn't have been better. The staff do an amazing job - by making the volunteers feel at home immediately, but also and above all by caring for the animals passionately. The work at the shelter (cleaning, walking, socialising with dogs and cats) does not really feel like work because it's so much fun and you get a lot of free time to explore the beautiful the shelter. The accommodation is shared with other international volunteers, which is perfect for socialising :) Can't recommend this place enough!

ARA is truly the best & most heartwarming place I've ever been to!! Everyone does their best to help the dogs & cats and it's the best shelter I ever saw. <3 You'll meet the greatest people there & surely lose your heart to some animals ❤️‍🩹 Everyone needs to go there to experience this special kind of magic!! It's now been my second time at ARA and I again absolutely loved it!! You can tell how much the staff cares for the cats and dogs and appreciates the help of the volunteers. We had again three amazing weeks at ARA. Its great to take part in helping animals on their journey to a new home. At ARA there is a dog trainer coming twice a week that gives very usefull advice on how to train dogs which helps a lot to make them more ready to be adopted. Furthermore, its also great to work with many other volunteers and we will certainly come again.

I absolutely loved my time at ARA, from getting to meet all the wonderful animals to working with the amazing and kind staff and volunteers. I've made some amazing friendships and bonded with so many animals who I really wish I could take home with me. The animals were treated with lots of love and respect and the staff, as well as other volunteers, were incredibly helpful with any questions I had. It was a genuinely welcoming environment. The accommodation was also very nice, and there are lots of great places to spend your time off. I really hope I get to come back to ARA someday again :D

I am very happy that my first experience with Worldpackers was ARA. I was able to experience many great, beautiful and unforgettable moments. It is a beautiful place, working with the animals is so much fun and doesn't feel like work and you immediately fell in love with every the shelter. you will also meet so many new volunteers and make new friends. But my big thanks goes to the staff, who managed everything so well and took such great care of me.
