My stay in Antwerp was my first volunteering experience and I am happy that I chose the school for it. I stayed for 8 weeks and met a lot of very nice people! I also learned a lot about vegan cooking and now know ingredients and meals which I haven't even heard of before volunteering. The location of the BnB is very central and close to a tram station, which is practical. The work is sometimes a bit stressful (when there are many guests) but in general easy and fun. Chala, Ruth and Alistair are extremely welcoming and friendly and I am very happy that I got to know them. :)

It was a very nice experience. Antwerp is a big city and the restaurant has a great location. The accommodation is great and as a couple, we had a room for ourselves. The chefs are super friendly and welcoming. The work varies between helping with the menu, waiting tables, cleaning the restaurant and doing laundry (bed linen for the B&B). As it is a restaurant, the working hours depend on how busy it is, we had 5/6 shifts of +/- 5/6 hours per week. They were flexible on days off and always open to conversation. Overall it is a experience I recommend for those who enjoy restaurant routine 😊

My expectations were high but unfortunately they werent met and we left earlier than planned. Positive points: people were nice and welcoming. Specially Chala who is a great professional and kind person. Restaurant is well equiped and the ambient is beautiful. Bedroom was ok. Negative points: the aparent lack of care: it needed fumigation, deep cleaning and fixing stuff. There were problems for months, including rats, but we didnt see much effort from the hosts on fixing things. The lack of proper hygiene was very upseting as it is a kitchen. Anyways we wish them the best, they are good people

I had a great time working in the school. The work was easy and the place is really chill. I was told beforehand that some shifts would longer than others, depending on how busy the restaurant is. I had a but of an issue my last week, because it was really busy and I worked quite a few hours over thirty and when I mentioned it to the manager I wasn't met with a lot of understanding. But we made it work in the end. Other than that it was a nice experience. I met some lovely people working there, the chefs are all really nice and it makes for a chill workplace.

The school is a wonderful place where you can meet new people and share an interest in cooking . My time there was amazing for my first volunteer experience 🥰

It was my first volunteer experience and it was very interesting. I really liked working with Chala and Ruth and learned a lot about vegan cuisine and got to practice lots of recipes. However I found some things to be a little wrong, for example the schedule of the shifts are not well organized regarding the 5 hours we should work, 6 shifts a week so it's 30 at the end of the week. Most of the times we have to work more hours and they leave a lot of responsibilities only to the volunteers to deal by themselves. Overall it was very fun and I traveled a lot to other places so that was very cool!

The experience was really nice! The cheffs are really nice, the atmosphere is calm, and you get to meet so many people. The location is fantastic (Antwerp is a big city, so many things to do), and the facilities where you stay are excellent! The work can range from being more chill to a bit more demanding, depending on how busy the place is. It's a dynamic environment. The tasks include cooking, preparing dishes, setting up the restaurant, attending to customers, and sometimes taking care of the laundry (washing, drying, and folding). It was a nice experience! :)

I loved my stay at the school. Working with Ruth, Milena and Chala was always fun and I learned very much about cooking vegan the school, plating dishes and serving in a restaurant. Since we spent our time there as a couple, we were provided a private room. The atmosphere during the shifts was always great and the work has never been overwhelming, although some evenings it can get quite crowded. All in all, we spent a beautiful time in the B&B and Antwerp.

I am really grateful for my stay at the school! It was a great first experience and Alistair, Ruth, Milena and Chala made me feel really welcomed. Work can be a bit stressful, especially for someone with no experience, but I never felt under pressure or too exhausted. I learned a lot about the work in and around the kitchen and also improved my social skills. Due to their concept of working with only volunteers, i met a lot of lovely people from all around the world. All in all I couldn't have had a better first experience and if you think about applying, I can definitely recommend it!
