I loved my time here. Chala and Ruth were so kind, patient and fun to be around and I learnt so much about cooking and new vegan recipes. The work consisted of preparing dishes, plating meals and waitressing and although the work hours could sometimes seem long, time always went by quickly as I was enjoying everything. I also loved Antwerp. It's a vibrant place with lots of things to do (museums, parks, cafes) and it's also close to locations like Bruges and Amsterdam!

Volunteering at the school was a life-changing experience. I made lasting friendships and learned about vegan and organic diets. Moreover, Antwerp's location made it easy to explore nearby areas. The volunteer-run restaurant helped me develop soft skills like customer interaction, cooking, cleaning, and teamwork. Also working with chefs Chala and Ruth was fun—they made every day feel like working with friends.

I am lucky to have stayed at the school as my first volunteering experience! Ruth & Chala are lovely, they enjoy cooking and create a friendly environment in the kitchen. But my favorite thing about my stay was having an amazing team of volunteers who are my dear friends now, thanks to Ruth who matched us carefully. Personally, I asked for double shifts because I wanted more free days to prepare for exams for university, they helped me a lot and were flexible about my shifts which was great. I had a lovely stay and I highly recommend them if you love cooking!!

Loved the experience in general, the vibes of the city and the kindness of the personnel, the work was fun sometimes hard but easily manageable, could have stayed a bit more but will definitely come back!

Super great volunteer experience! The room I had was so lovely- private & with a great window. I originally planned to stay 2 months and extended to 3! More of a chill, relaxed volunteer experience (more early mornings & not many late nights or partying!) Antwerp is a great city and Ruth & Chala can give you great recommendations for stores, the school, activities, etc. The work is easy and fun if you enjoy cooking and you'll learn a lot about vegan cuisine !

I had a great time at the school. I learned a lot of new recipes and I enjoyed discovering Antwerp and other Belgian cities. They always made sure to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I'm happy I now gained more experience in the hospitality sector as well :)

I had an amazing time!!! Everyone was so welcoming and kind, made me feel at home. I've learned so so much and it inspired me to go vegan. I feel so much more confident now about my cooking skills. Also the location is awesome, it's easy to go to other cities in your days off. I would love to come back!!!!

I had a great time at the school! People are welcoming and you learn a lot! I would recommend it to those who like cooking and experimenting, as well as working in a team. Accommodation is okay, the place is in a nice area, good place to meet new people from all over the world! Tasks are mostly easy, and you'll always get help when needed. Sometimes a bit tiring but I would do it again. Thx!

It was really cool and challenging to work at the school. I believe I have fulfilled my purpose of unlocking my English and knowing a little about Belgium and Antwerp, which is an incredible city. The work can be heavy, I even worked about 11 hours in a single day, there are 6 shifts of approximately 5 hours, being able to work two shifts in a day, totaling 30 hours or more. The accommodation is comfortable and I stayed in a room alone almost the whole month. It was my first experience with voluntary exchange and with work in the kitchen and I recommend this experience.
