I just finished my first volunteering experience. I was nervous about my English and curious about the work. I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay: the work is super relaxed and everyone involved in the hostel management is friendly and makes you feel at ease and welcomed. I had the opportunity to stay for two weeks in another hostel, from the same group, and I met some really amazing places and people! It was an enriching experience! Ruthie, Derek, Swinny and Alícia, thank you for everything!

I had a lovely time here! Ruthie is a very kind & generous host. the hostel is a great middle point to take day trips to places like Glasgow, Edinburgh, & Inverness. I had to leave a day early due to a travel conflict & they were very understanding which I appreciated. The work is easy & only takes a couple hours a day & there is lots of free time to explore & go hiking. I recommend hiking Ben Vrackie which is right by the hostel!

It's my first time in Scotland, and it has been absolutely amazing! the the hostel is a classic and cozy place to stay. I highly recommend staying longer, just like I did! I stayed here for 2 months, and I can't get enough of it. The location is great, right across from the hostel train station and the bus stop to everywhere. I was amazed by the nature in the Highlands. Ruthie and Derek have always been there for me, and I felt like I was home away from home. I'm truly sad I have to leave. The precious experiences I've had here will last me a lifetime.

Ruthie and Derek are some of the most welcoming and fun people I've ever met. They are so easy to work for and really want to make sure you enjoy the hostel. The work itself was straightforward and there was plenty of time to explore in the afternoons. I will definitely be back!

It was truly an amazing volunteering. I stayed 6 weeks in this lovely hostel and I met people from all the world. Ruthie and Derek were so kind, always with a touch of humor. I was with a big group of volunteers, we did a lot of activities : hiking, swimming in the loch, day trip, rafting, pub night, making dinner together, movies in the TV room...I really enjoyed. The work is pretty easy and the placement is just perfect, surrounded by nature, forest and mountains. This volunteering is also perfect if you want to improve your English. the hostel's experience will be forever in my heart.

Absolutely loved my experience in the hostel, fabulous place, wonderful people, and amazing memories. the hostel itself is a lovely little town with not much to do but it's surrounded by fantastic nature walks, hiking and fun activities! The volunteers were amazing, such kind, wonderful people with whom I'll stay friends forever regardless of where we are. The manager Ruthie is the most wonderful person, and Derek is a big ol teddy bear. Loved it, would Absolutely recommend it!

Absolutely loved our stay at the hostel! We weren't sure what to think about it at first, but quickly this hostel became our home away from home and that is partly due to the fantastic management of Ruthie and Derek! Ruthie especially is just such a sweet person who really cares about us volunteers. The shifts were easy going and collaborative, the schedule allowed so much time to explore the beautiful surrounding area, and we really felt we made lasting friendships that'll continue beyond the time we spent there. It was so hard to leave this place, I cannot recommend it enough!

Absolutely adored my time here, I was very sad to leave because this ended up feeling like home for me. Ruthie and Derek are lovely & I absolutely loved the other volunteers I worked with here. An amazing town to relax in, the team is very flexible and the work is really enjoyable (for me at least). Definitely one of my favourite places now & I hope to come back next year!

I really enjoyed my time in the hostel! The hostel is very cozy. The job is simple; and the managers, Ruthie and Derek, are both super nice! It was amazing meeting other volunteers too. It's a perfect place for people who love to go hiking, cycling and even swimming, that is if you can bear the freezing cold water!
