The hostel is a magical place. One I never imagined I'd visit. It's a small but very picturesque town, with beautiful views and charming Scottish buildings. A gem in the Highlands. Very close to Edinburgh, which you can visit on your days off, and they also allow you to stay in other hostels in the same chain. I loved the flexibility, the beautiful work environment, and I made friends. The owners, Jo and Richard, are very friendly and always willing to make sure you have a good volunteer experience. I loved meeting them and stayed at their beautiful hostel I will miss you very much

My stay at the hostel was perfect! Derek, Ruthie, Rich and Jo are all amazing and so welcoming. I felt so at home here, the hours are always respected, I met amazing people, and got to see so much of the local area. I'd recommend this experience to everyone. Thankyou :)

This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The team is so wonder and Ruthie and Rich were fabulous with me. I met so many great people, both volunteers and guests. I enjoyed the work, had plenty of time to explore the town and nature. I'm definitely coming back!!! I already miss it!

This was my second experience as a volunteer in this hostel chain and it was really enjoyable. The whole space is cozy, comfortable and very well organized, making the stay pleasant and peaceful. I had the opportunity to meet incredible people and share unforgettable moments. I can't forget to thank Jojo, Richard, Dereck and Ruthie — each of them made this experience even more special in their own way. A special thanks to Jojo, who is always kind and often surprises everyone with delicious dinners. I am very grateful for everything and I highly recommend this experience to everyone.

My experience has been wonderful from the day I joined until the day I leave. The managers are excellent people and help you in everything, the work is not very heavy, they are simple tasks. The place and the location is excellent, I hope to come back one day because I really go back to Spain very happy and with an improvement in my English which is why I came. I can only thank all the people who made it possible Derrick, Ruthie, Richard thank you, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. It is an experience I will never forget ❤️

The hostel was a home away from home. I had never stayed in a hostel before, but from the moment I arrived, Ruthie and Derek helped me feel at home. The work is simple and divided into shifts and teams. I had cleaning, breakfast shift and the night shift. So it's super organized! And you have plenty of time to explore the town and nature. It is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers and is only a few bus rides from Edinburgh and Inverness and Glasgow. I met so many amazing people also and will never forget this experience.

The hostel was a really nice experience. The pretty town has everything you need and also the volunteers were so nice that we felt respected and accepted. Also the nature in this area was beautiful and we could make lots of walks through the forests. The old mill near to the hostel is a pub which I can really recommend. The tasks we had to do were simple and feasible. The hostel was cozy, inviting and nice decorated so we felt at home. Thank you for this nice experience!

That's was so far the most amazing experience I had, I could feel the hostel as my second home. Derek and Ruthie are sweethearts with so much energy and always making everyone around smile, they teach me a lot about how to work in the reception, about Scotland and also inviting us for so many amazing experiences around the highlands. I'll miss this place and for sure I want to comeback next year.

The the hostel in the hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and I could not have been happier on this place! The people I met their were so welcoming and it became a home to me for one month. I fell in love with this small town and the nature around it! It was an unbelievable time Thank you.

Thank you for your honest feed back and thank you for your time and work. Too be honest we did find a group of 4 (when the boyfriend was here too) a bit challenging and we did find the group a bit unaware of others in the hostel. However as soon as the group changed to 3, it did become a lot more manageable, and loved all our interactions together.

An incredible volunteering experience! Ruthie and Derick were very sweet and attentive, we felt very comfortable, we made many friends and the work was also very relaxed. We had many moments of interaction and on one of them we had the opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis on a bonfire night at the nearby lake. the hostel is a small, charming and very beautiful town, with stunning scenery and great hiking trails! I hope to be able to return one day, everything was so special!
