Absolutely loved my experience in the hostel, fabulous place, wonderful people, and amazing memories. the hostel itself is a lovely little town with not much to do but it's surrounded by fantastic nature walks, hiking and fun activities! The volunteers were amazing, such kind, wonderful people with whom I'll stay friends forever regardless of where we are. The manager Ruthie is the most wonderful person, and Derek is a big ol teddy bear. Loved it, would Absolutely recommend it!

Absolutely loved our stay at the hostel! We weren't sure what to think about it at first, but quickly this hostel became our home away from home and that is partly due to the fantastic management of Ruthie and Derek! Ruthie especially is just such a sweet person who really cares about us volunteers. The shifts were easy going and collaborative, the schedule allowed so much time to explore the beautiful surrounding area, and we really felt we made lasting friendships that'll continue beyond the time we spent there. It was so hard to leave this place, I cannot recommend it enough!

Absolutely adored my time here, I was very sad to leave because this ended up feeling like home for me. Ruthie and Derek are lovely & I absolutely loved the other volunteers I worked with here. An amazing town to relax in, the team is very flexible and the work is really enjoyable (for me at least). Definitely one of my favourite places now & I hope to come back next year!

I really enjoyed my time in the hostel! The hostel is very cozy. The job is simple; and the managers, Ruthie and Derek, are both super nice! It was amazing meeting other volunteers too. It's a perfect place for people who love to go hiking, cycling and even swimming, that is if you can bear the freezing cold water!

My experience was the best possible at Pitchlory. I didn't want to leave, seriously! Everyone welcomed me very well, I will miss you guys. Working hours were respected, we have a bathroom just for volunteers and the room is cozy. I felt at home, there are plenty of trails to do and you are in contact with nature all the time, I highly recommend it.

The managers, Ruthie and Derek, are both incredibly personable. They readily aid the volunteers to understand their cleaning tasks, as well as teaching the check-in process and the booking system. They also provided lots of info on the local hikes, as well as the best restaurants and pubs. There is a couple staff dormitories with nice beds and plenty of space. The kitchen has everything. the hostel Hotel is located in the center of a tourist- and resort-oriented town (mostly an older clientele) but there are plenty of people of all ages that use the Backpacker hotel.

It was a surreal experience I had in the hostel. Without a doubt, I would return again as a volunteer or even as a guest. The city, the team, the management, everything was incredible. without a doubt a special place ❤️

I only stayed for a week, but was so much fun. It was my first time working in a hostel and was east work just making beds and sometimes reception. The best thing about the hostel was of course the nature but also just hanging out with the other volunteers and meeting really cool people.

I really had a good time here. Tasks are so easy, and you always have time to go hiking and explore the amazing area and surrondings. Swin and Derek are so easygoing and kind. They always helped me in anything that I needed it. The staff were so amazing too, good vibes everywhere and it's so easy to meet and talk with international travelers. I can really recommend this place. Thank you for everything, guys 😀

Volunteering here was incredible! the hostel truly cares about it's volunteers and creates a community regardless of the length of your stay. You get to meet so many international and local people to socialize with. It's also a great place if you're interested in seeing nature and hiking. This was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't recommend it enough.
