THE BEST VOLUNTEER EVER! :) The team was amazing, made friends for life there. The tasks were easy and well-explained. There is a big lounge to socialize with other volunteers, guests, or work. Ruthie is an amazing host, she is always happy, fun, and excited. I'll miss her daily smile. The city is like a fairytale, very beautiful and there is lots of nature to enjoy. I will miss this experience, and I hope to come back to visit soon.

What a wonderful experience!! Ruthie and Derek are amazing!! Their energy and partnership with everyone make this place even much more especial. The hostel and the hostel have a bigger space in my heart because of them! The job is very well organized, they care about how the volunteers feel doing it, they care about guests, and the vibe that it all brings to the experience is amazing. You can apply to this opportunity with your eyes closed! You will feel like home, make friends, improve your English and see how lovely the hostel is! I couldn't stay for a long time and look foward to come back!

This was my first time volunteering and visiting Scotland and I couldn't have chosen a better place for that experience! Ruthie and Derek are so incredibly kind and fun, making sure you feel welcome and at home. The work itself is pretty chill and there's a lot of free time in the day once you're finished. The Hostel is super cozy, and although is a very small town, there's plenty to explore as well as time to visit other beautiful towns/cities! I met a lot of great people and it feels really bittersweet leaving :') Thank you for everything, Ruthie and Derek, I'll definitely be back!! :)

El mejor lugar en donde eh estado, mi novio y yo nos sentimos como en casa, Ruth y Dereck son increíbles personas, el trabajo no es nada difícil y uno tiene muchas opciones para hacer después del turno, las tardes de pelis. son lo mejor, extrañaré mucho a todos los chicos sobre todo a Yami y a Pablo! Nunca dejaré de estar agradecida por habernos dejado ser parte de su Staff, Pitlocry me lo llevo en mi corazón ❤️ Gracias infinitas por todo! Espero volver en el futuro y tener otra noche mexicana. I just finished my first volunteering experience. I was nervous about my English and curious about the work. I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay: the work is super relaxed and everyone involved in the hostel management is friendly and makes you feel at ease and welcomed. I had the opportunity to stay for two weeks in another hostel, from the same group, and I met some really amazing places and people! It was an enriching experience! Ruthie, Derek, Swinny and Alícia, thank you for everything!

I had a lovely time here! Ruthie is a very kind & generous host. the hostel is a great middle point to take day trips to places like Glasgow, Edinburgh, & Inverness. I had to leave a day early due to a travel conflict & they were very understanding which I appreciated. The work is easy & only takes a couple hours a day & there is lots of free time to explore & go hiking. I recommend hiking Ben Vrackie which is right by the hostel!

It's my first time in Scotland, and it has been absolutely amazing! the the hostel is a classic and cozy place to stay. I highly recommend staying longer, just like I did! I stayed here for 2 months, and I can't get enough of it. The location is great, right across from the hostel train station and the bus stop to everywhere. I was amazed by the nature in the Highlands. Ruthie and Derek have always been there for me, and I felt like I was home away from home. I'm truly sad I have to leave. The precious experiences I've had here will last me a lifetime.

Ruthie and Derek are some of the most welcoming and fun people I've ever met. They are so easy to work for and really want to make sure you enjoy the hostel. The work itself was straightforward and there was plenty of time to explore in the afternoons. I will definitely be back!

It was truly an amazing volunteering. I stayed 6 weeks in this lovely hostel and I met people from all the world. Ruthie and Derek were so kind, always with a touch of humor. I was with a big group of volunteers, we did a lot of activities : hiking, swimming in the loch, day trip, rafting, pub night, making dinner together, movies in the TV room...I really enjoyed. The work is pretty easy and the placement is just perfect, surrounded by nature, forest and mountains. This volunteering is also perfect if you want to improve your English. the hostel's experience will be forever in my heart.
