Absolutely loved my experience in the hostel, fabulous place, wonderful people, and amazing memories. the hostel itself is a lovely little town with not much to do but it's surrounded by fantastic nature walks, hiking and fun activities! The volunteers were amazing, such kind, wonderful people with whom I'll stay friends forever regardless of where we are. The manager Ruthie is the most wonderful person, and Derek is a big ol teddy bear. Loved it, would Absolutely recommend it!

Absolutely loved our stay at the hostel! We weren't sure what to think about it at first, but quickly this hostel became our home away from home and that is partly due to the fantastic management of Ruthie and Derek! Ruthie especially is just such a sweet person who really cares about us volunteers. The shifts were easy going and collaborative, the schedule allowed so much time to explore the beautiful surrounding area, and we really felt we made lasting friendships that'll continue beyond the time we spent there. It was so hard to leave this place, I cannot recommend it enough!

Absolutely adored my time here, I was very sad to leave because this ended up feeling like home for me. Ruthie and Derek are lovely & I absolutely loved the other volunteers I worked with here. An amazing town to relax in, the team is very flexible and the work is really enjoyable (for me at least). Definitely one of my favourite places now & I hope to come back next year!

I really enjoyed my time in the hostel! The hostel is very cozy. The job is simple; and the managers, Ruthie and Derek, are both super nice! It was amazing meeting other volunteers too. It's a perfect place for people who love to go hiking, cycling and even swimming, that is if you can bear the freezing cold water!

My experience was the best possible at Pitchlory. I didn't want to leave, seriously! Everyone welcomed me very well, I will miss you guys. Working hours were respected, we have a bathroom just for volunteers and the room is cozy. I felt at home, there are plenty of trails to do and you are in contact with nature all the time, I highly recommend it.

Lo recomendaría 100% Es la primera vez que hacía un voluntariado en un hostal,y fue una experiencia increíble. Las tareas son muy fáciles,las horas de trabajo las respetan,y con el día libre son súper flexibles, además te dan la posibilidad de conocer otros lugares de Escocia y alojarte gratis en los hoteles que pertenecen al mismo dueño. Hay muchos voluntarios,de hecho se hacen cenas para estar todos juntos, lo que te permite hacer muchos amigos. Por último mencionar a Ruth y Derek, que se encargan de gestionar el hostal y son personas maravillosas que hacen que te sientas como en casa.

The managers, Ruthie and Derek, are both incredibly personable. They readily aid the volunteers to understand their cleaning tasks, as well as teaching the check-in process and the booking system. They also provided lots of info on the local hikes, as well as the best restaurants and pubs. There is a couple staff dormitories with nice beds and plenty of space. The kitchen has everything. the hostel Hotel is located in the center of a tourist- and resort-oriented town (mostly an older clientele) but there are plenty of people of all ages that use the Backpacker hotel.

El pueblo es bonito y tiene muchas rutas de senderismo. Pasan todos los buses pero dentro del hostel no se oye nada! Te ofrecen desayuno y 35£ a la semana (hay que entregar los tickets de compra) Hicimos voluntariado en Skye porque no tenían personal. Nos prometieron que de regreso tendríamos habitación privada y se la dieron a otros voluntarios 👀 Al final fue lo de menos. Las habitaciones compartidas son mixtas y no hay problema. Conocimos a gente maravillosa!! Llegamos a ser 7 voluntarios hispanohablantes, éramos mayoría jajajaj Las tareas van rotando y hay varios turnos de trabajo

Participar como voluntaria the hostel fue una experiencia inolvidable. Hice amistad con otros voluntarios, las tareas eran fáciles de realizar y se respetaron las horas de trabajo. La ciudad esta rodeada de bosques, por lo que hay varias caminatas para realizar. Muchas gracias Swinny y Derek por recibirme!
