The hostel was a home away from home. I had never stayed in a hostel before, but from the moment I arrived, Ruthie and Derek helped me feel at home. The work is simple and divided into shifts and teams. I had cleaning, breakfast shift and the night shift. So it's super organized! And you have plenty of time to explore the town and nature. It is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers and is only a few bus rides from Edinburgh and Inverness and Glasgow. I met so many amazing people also and will never forget this experience.

The hostel was a really nice experience. The pretty town has everything you need and also the volunteers were so nice that we felt respected and accepted. Also the nature in this area was beautiful and we could make lots of walks through the forests. The old mill near to the hostel is a pub which I can really recommend. The tasks we had to do were simple and feasible. The hostel was cozy, inviting and nice decorated so we felt at home. Thank you for this nice experience!

That's was so far the most amazing experience I had, I could feel the hostel as my second home. Derek and Ruthie are sweethearts with so much energy and always making everyone around smile, they teach me a lot about how to work in the reception, about Scotland and also inviting us for so many amazing experiences around the highlands. I'll miss this place and for sure I want to comeback next year.

The the hostel in the hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and I could not have been happier on this place! The people I met their were so welcoming and it became a home to me for one month. I fell in love with this small town and the nature around it! It was an unbelievable time Thank you.

Thank you for your honest feed back and thank you for your time and work. Too be honest we did find a group of 4 (when the boyfriend was here too) a bit challenging and we did find the group a bit unaware of others in the hostel. However as soon as the group changed to 3, it did become a lot more manageable, and loved all our interactions together.

Fue nuestro primer voluntariado y no nos podría haber tocado un lugar mejor. Ruth es muy cálida y te hace sentir bienvenido y como en casa. El hostel es muy amplio y cómodo, y las tareas son sencillas. Además, son muy flexibles con las necesidades personales de cada voluntario. Nos divertimos, conocimos gente muy linda, y sobre todo nos permitió conocer y recorrer otras partes de Escocia, ya que hay varios hostels de la misma cadena en diferentes lugares. Recomiendo 100% la experiencia. Thank you Ruth and Derek for having us!! It was a pleasure!!

Fue el mejor voluntariado que he hecho hasta ahora me encanto la amabilidad y alegria de Ruthie, el hostal es acogedor ,la atmosfera en el hostel es increible , ame estar allí ,es un pueblito pequeño pero lleno de vida y personas muy calidas ,el trabajo super sencillo ,horarios rotativos pero muy tranquilos, el supermercado muy cerca al hostal,puedes cocinar a tu gusto ,de verdad me fui muy triste hubiera querido quedarme más, es el lugar perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza y con uno mismo,simplemente perfecto,muchas gracias por todo ,espero regresar en otro momento.

An incredible volunteering experience! Ruthie and Derick were very sweet and attentive, we felt very comfortable, we made many friends and the work was also very relaxed. We had many moments of interaction and on one of them we had the opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis on a bonfire night at the nearby lake. the hostel is a small, charming and very beautiful town, with stunning scenery and great hiking trails! I hope to be able to return one day, everything was so special!

O hostel foi uma experiência incrível, super indico. Fiz amizades com pessoas incríveis que levarei para a vida. Uma cidade incrível com uma conexão a natureza, lindas paisagens e trilhas. I spent nearly a month volunteering at this magical place, and it was an incredible experience. Ruthie and Derek, the volunteers, were a pillar of support throughout this wonderful adventure. I improved my English and learned so much about different cultures from the guests and fellow volunteers I met during my stay. I highly recommend this place; I now consider it a second home, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
