The hostel was a life changing opportunity I was able to experience, Charles is a great host and Ale is an amazing manager he knew a lot about Puerto Rico and always knew the good spots to go. The fellow team as well was awesome and got along very well. The property is very clean and relaxing at times but also very fun. Overall the hostel was amazing.

Through this exchange I have met so many amazing people and have had so much fun with the other staff and guests. The schedules are flexible and you only work 3 days a week which gives you plenty of time to explore the island. The owner Charles and the Manager Ale were both so kind and were always there to help. I would highly recommend doing a working exchange at this hostel.

My training was lacking. I had to figure things out as I went along. Alex was a great manager but he was clearly overworked. He did his best. Everything was OK until the owner showed up out of the blue. He was extremely toxic, controlling and verbally abusive. At one point going as far as to ask the manager if he was stupid. I have still yet to be reimbursed for arriving early, (per the owners request) canceling my other lodging accommodations. I also did side work for the owner that was supposed to be paid in cash. I never received that and I have yet to see my final paycheck either.

I had a great experience at the hostel, mainly because of the amazing team. The volunteers and staff created a welcoming, supportive environment, and I'm grateful for the lifelong friendships I made. However, the owner does not seem to value his staff, and I witnessed moments of little appreciation for the team. Communication and organization could be improved, and shifts can be more demanding than expected. Additionally, the final 'tips' given to volunteers appear to be conditional on leaving a review. With better management, this could be an even greater place to work.

Thank you for sharing your experience at Mango. We're glad you enjoyed the welcoming environment. We don't pay for reviews but tip our staff by weekly based on performance.

Unfortunately, in your last week, you didn't start on time or complete tasks, leading to extra work for your coworkers. Their extra effort was recognized through redistributed tips.

The location of this hostel was great as it was in walking distance to La Placita, and was centrally located in Condado. The facilities themselves was nice and everything was maintained quite well!

I'm very satisfied with my overall stay at the hostel! My colleagues were great and I've made forever friends from this experience. My managers were awesome too. I would recommend this for anyone, however it's good to know that the work you will do is quite exhausting. And sometimes the communication is off which can create misunderstandings. If you're hardworking and love meeting new people, this is for you! I want to thank Charles for letting me have this great adventure and I'm thankful for everyone I've met during my time.

I stayed at the hostel for about 2 months and experienced nothing but love and support. Everyone is very kind, the hosts communicate well and can help you in any scenario, the dogs pina and coco are sweeties and run the show. And everything is walking distance from grocery stores and beaches to might clubs and salsa classes. Truly one of my best hostel experiences. I miss y'all🤎🥺

This was my first World Packers experience and it absolutely blew all my expectations away. Charles is a great host and Alex and Virginia are amazing managers who create such a fun and chill environment. The location is perfect, you'll be a five minute walk to the beach, 10 minute Uber to Old San Juan and if you're looking for good night life then you're in luck because you'll be a two minute walk from La Placita. Normally you'll work three shifts a week and they're about eight hours. The work is also pretty simple, just a lot of it so it can be tiring. Overall I can't recommend the hostel enough!
