Unfortunately i can't recommend volunteering at this hostel, volunteering experience i have had. The owner is just trying to get free labor from the volunteers. There's no employees in the hostel, just volunteers who are expected to run the hostel and take all the responsabilities of an employee. The owner is very demanding and made me uncomfortable at times. The sleeping conditions are very different from the pictures with beds falling apart. On worldpackers it says the meals are provided but u have to cook Isn't a good VOLUNTEERING experience unless you want to WORK for free

what you say is move just from the angry . you create a group in the hostel and your reviews is similar because you want just create trouble for the hostel, but that's is coherent with yours attitude in the hostel just ask and pretend without consideration for the propriety .
you enjoy our house until we decided to put you out because you go over

I had a good experience in eco hostel. Catania is a interesting place with good nightlife close to beautiful cities. The hostel has a good location near to the center. The work is very chill and is a small hostel so it's not difficult. You have the chance to meet the guests and that's cool. I had no experience as a receptionist and I learn a lot here. Thanks to Diletta and Karma! They did my experience here really comfortable and thanks for the help, for trying to solve the problems and the empathy. And also for giving me the chance to learn, improve and also trusting the process. Thank you!

This was my first WorldPackers experience and Karma was so welcoming, helpful and chatty for my whole stay. The city is small but is a great location for day trips to other towns and seeing Sicily. The hostel is central but still quiet and clean. Unfortunately, there was a lack of training and the owner did not seem to have much respect or care for the volunteers - he complained that we asked questions and was unresponsive to our calls, which left guests disappointed and us in an awkward position. Overall it was a good experience but better communication and organization would be ideal☀️

The hosts are very warm-hearted and welcoming people. The tasks are quite easy and the training process was very comprehensive. Please be aware that there is a cat living in the hostel as well so if you have allergies (which I unfortunately did), it's going to be difficult. But if you don't, then you'll love it even more. The days off were often subject to change, which made it hard to make any plans for my free time. Other than that everything was great!

The worst experience of my life! Karma and Gabriele are responsible for the hostel, at first everything was going well (apparently), I was working more hours than agreed (I would say maybe 39 hours a week), nothing that was in the profile was offered, payment of €50 weekly was always late! There's no security at all!! We were robbed, guests were robbed and they didn't care!! When I started asking about the cameras and things that was wrong. They asked me to leave because I wasn't quite anymore .. If you want more details, please, text me and I can explain everything with details.

Fortunately the other reviews say the true about us , the genuine place and good relationship that we have with volunteer and guest of hostel . Our policy is always to be friendly and familiar for a good experience of people. we don't care defamation and the new people that will came will understand the truth.

My stay at eco hostel was really nice :). The job itself is pretty easy and I loved meeting Priscilla and Monia! They were so nice. Karma was very welcoming and nice. You work afternoons or nights and are provided with breakfast. I would recommend. The only thing for me was not much hot water in the shower and you share the bathroom with guests. The hostel is close to the city which is very nice. Thank you so much for this opportunity! 😊

I can't believe my month at Eco hostel is over, I miss it so much. I was meant to stay for 3 weeks but stayed another week and a half because I felt so at home with the people and the wonderful environment. I wish I could write a very detailed review but I am only given a limited amount of space so I will summarize my experience up in a couple sentences. Very safe, cozy, calm, hostel. Work hours and requirements are super easy, you get a lot of free time. Hosts Gabriele and Karma are like giant teddy bears, they are so sweet and welcoming. Communication and respect was defiantly there. Loved.

My stay at the Eco Hostel was more than great!! Gabriele, Karma and Monia are lovely people who really care about you and your well-being. They made me feel welcome the first second I walked in and it felt like home right away. I only had to work at the Reception which is a super easy job. You do have to work a bit more than it says here but that was no problem at all because during work time you have plenty of time to chill or read a book. I really enjoyed my volunteer experience there and would recommend it to everyone else!!

This was my first worldpackers experience, and it was amazing! The owners are brothers who value having a positive environment. They are fun, upbeat, and so welcoming! As a volunteer, you can contribute to maintaining the cool & eclectic vibe of the hostel. Grazie mille!! For future volunteers, a few notes to clarify; you are provided breakfast, and €50 a week to help pay for food. The bedroom is separate from guests but shared with other volunteers. And, as with any place of work, sometimes things will go wrong, so it's important to not expect perfection and be ready to help problem solve.

I had an amazing experience at Eco hostel. Gabriele and Carmelo are super friendly and very welcoming. I felt very comfortable from the first day. I was able to learn how to work reception and how to effectively run a hostel. The hostel itself is in a very good location close to the city centre of Catania. The work is also very chill and you will also have plenty of free time to explore the city. Thank you very much for this opportunity!
