From the minute I arrived at the EcoHostel it immediately felt like home. The shifts were super chill, we worked 6hr days and then had two days off a week which gave me heaps of time to explore Sicily! Diletta, Gabriele and Vera were super helpful and kind and brought such a nice energy to the hostel. Such an incredible experience

Home away from home, the hostel is super cozy, lots of games, big common area, generally it’s more quiet, but you can always find someone to have a conversation or play some games with. Gabriele, Diletta and Vera are all super nice and helpful. I managed to get sick during my stay and they took so good care of me. I loved my time in eco hostel and I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you🫶

I had a great stay at Ecohostel. The owner is Gabriele but his sister Giletta is more often around. They’re extremely welcoming, be prepared to talk openly with Giletta. The room would be small if all 4 volunteers are there however only 1 other girl was volunteering when I was there. Breakfast is like toast/cereal and they give you a €20 Lidl gift card for the rest of your meals for the week which they try to give around tues/wed. The schedule comes out super late but are flexible if you want a certain shift. Overall it was a cozy time - right in the centre and I don’t have any negatives :)

I had an amazing time at Eco Hostel! Diletta and Gabriele are very nice hosts, the other volunteers were amazing and it’s so easy to get in touch with guests! It’s a home away from home in a family atmosphere. You work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week at reception. When you memorize and understand the work, it is an easy job and you get in touch with international travelers so easily. I recommend this position to everyone wanting to experience Sicilian life! And Catania is a great city!

My stay was fine. Mostly the staff was bubbly/friendly but also not reliable, sometimes even moody/harsh. At first it was hard to understand all your tasks. Working at night might be scary for some people(shifts on your own until 1:30am). The room for volunteers is miserable as it is not the one from the Worldpackers posting (mold, unstable bed, no window). The weekly Lidl voucher(~25€) is not enough. No laundry machine (+9€ for laundromat). Cockroaches+ants. I would recommend the hosts to improve their way of criticising. I had the feeling that they didn't like me being confident/independent.
