The Experience

A stunning mix of culture, tradition and innovation, everything enclosed in a modern building designed for music addicted. This unique concentration of style is the Eco Hostel main concept, embedded in the historic fabric of the old city of Catania. Our Hostel is only a few footsteps away from the city’s striking cultural sights, immerged in Catanese nightlife. The project started in 2017 by the ambitious ideas of the founders Satya Ferrari e Ga

Home away from home, the hostel is super cozy, lots of games, big common area, generally it's more quiet, but you can always find someone to have a conversation or play some games with. Gabriele, Diletta and Vera are all super nice and helpful. I managed to get sick during my stay and they took so good care of me. I loved my time in eco hostel and I can't recommend it enough. Thank you🫶

I had a great stay at the hostel. The owner is Gabriele but his sister Giletta is more often around. They're extremely welcoming, be prepared to talk openly with Giletta. The room would be small if all 4 volunteers are there however only 1 other girl was volunteering when I was there. Breakfast is like toast/cereal and they give you a €20 Lidl gift card for the rest of your meals for the week which they try to give around tues/wed. The schedule comes out super late but are flexible if you want a certain shift. Overall it was a cozy time - right in the centre and I don't have any negatives :)

I had an amazing time at Eco Hostel! Diletta and Gabriele are very nice hosts, the other volunteers were amazing and it's so easy to get in touch with guests! It's a home away from home in a family atmosphere. You work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week at reception. When you memorize and understand the work, it is an easy job and you get in touch with international travelers so easily. I recommend this position to everyone wanting to experience Sicilian life! And Catania is a great city!

I loved my experience at the eco hostel! The staff were so welcoming and I now feel like I have a little Italian family. The room the volunteers stayed in was quite small but everything else made up for it. The receptionist roll was very easy and chill. Overall I had a great experience here :)

Zoe is a very sweet, sunny girl who has fully lived the experience of the hostel. We are very pleased that she considers us as a "family".
We will always have a good memory of Zoe because she is very attentive to work and because she has bonded with the staff, the other volunteers and especially with the guests.

Thanks for your help Zoe :))!!

I had an amazig time at the Eco hostel! Diletta and Gabrielle were very welcoming, and the tasks were explained well. After a few training shifts together, the work was easily doable. The shifts are-even when the hostel is fully booked- very chill, so I finished several books during my work and had plenty of time to talk with the guests or the other volunteers. Because there are only 15 beds, it is super easy to build connections with the guests. I had a great time with the other volunteers as well, and we played boardgames, went to the park, had some gelato, ... I would definitley recommend!
