Such a fun three weeks in Catania!! Karma and Gabriele were great hosts and I loved getting to know them and the other people working there. Got to practice my Italian and get to know Sicily more. Highly recommend this experience. The room was a bit small / loud at times and could get quite messy at times. Other than that, it was a lovely experience 😊

I don't even know where to begin! Thank you Eco Hostel for the incredible month in Catania. I had the best time staying and working at the Hostel, I've met so many amazing people and was able to learn many new things. A huge thanks to Karma and Gabrielle for making me feel at home. You guys truly create an atmosphere like no other. The work was exactly as agreed on prior and the vibes at the hostel were amazing. I wouldn't change a thing!!! I was immediately welcomed into the team and have ever since felt like a part of it. Thank you so much for making my time in sicily so amazing!

The hostel is run by three siblings, I mainly worked with Carma and Gabriel. They are really welcoming! The tasks/hours are easy to manage and they lead you through all the processes and are always reachable for help. The vibe in the hostel is social and cozy. Gabriel and Carma are very open to tell you about the real Sicilian culture and give you great recommendations on authentic local spots. You share a small dorm with the other volunteers, in total I worked and lived together with four different girls, all from different countries which i really enjoyed. the hostel feels like a family :)

My time at the Eco hostel was amazing and unforgettable. From the first minutes I felt there at home and like a family member thanks to the owners, who make every effort to ensure the hostel has a welcoming atmosphere. Tasks are as simple as they can be at the reception and breakfast shift, the schedule allows to travel not only on the days off, so you can see a lot of Sicily. Karma, Gabriele, Vera thank you for that time, you're all great people and I'm very grateful I had a chance to meet your family and gain insights of the local culture, food and practise my Italian. Living one month in the Eco Hostel wasn't enough. I couldn't be happier for being part of this experience. They are my Sicilian family now! I'm gonna be so grateful for the rest of my life. They were teaching me a lot of Italian, showing the best places in Catania, and always helping me with everything that I needed. Karma, Gabrielle, Estefania, Vera y Agata: you're part of a great Hostel, a great Home, and the most beautiful and warm place to spend a vacation, an exchange or live forever 😅🩷 And for Mya, Samira, Fran y Gabi: you're the best coworkers that I could ever ask for 🥹🩷

The hostel was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, Karma and Gabriel were so kind and considerate. The hours are 6 per day 5 days a week, as advertised and the tasks are simple- checkins and some light preparations for breakfast/ washing some dishes . Shifts are chilled and even at 100% capacity the hostel never felt stressful. Catania is a beautiful place, and the guys always have great suggestions for things to do or new places to explore. 10/10 experience would recommend to anyone!!

I was at the eco Hostel for 3 Weeks and I had a great time. Everyone was really welcoming and lovely. The work was not hard at all and afterwards we were always free to do what we wanted. I had some really nice conversations with Karma and Gabrielle. They would always look after us, recommend us places and were very attentive. You could feel how much love they have for the hostel and Sicily. Sometimes they were a little bit late for their shifts, but it was more than fine. Thanks again guys. :))

Hey! I want to thank the whole team at eco hostel for having me! I had an amazing time during my stay for a month🙌 I wanna say a special thanks to Karma who always wanted me to feel at home and talked with me about everything I had to ask! The reason I have given it four stars (I would have wanted to give it a 4,5) is because the room we stay in doesn't have a window, which means that the air gets very compact and a bit smelly in the room. Another small thing is, that the work is very easy, but you have a big responsibility when working, because you are there alone. But really thank you❤️

She was perfect in the hostel, she settled in perfectly, always worked impeccably, respecting timetables and so on. We will always have fond memories of Thea.

After traveling and volunteering in several hostels before, the hostel wasn't really what I expected of a hostel. I've stayed there just one week because I felt uncomfortable with the lack of communication and the cat that had fleas. The 3 siblings that work here are good people but they sometimes can be ignorant to issues. Because there's no real staff it sometimes felt like they used us as free workers. I tried to reach out to them in order to have a chat about how things went, but they didn't respond. The owners can be really nice but I think there are better places to enjoy hostel life!

The hostel is modern and calm. The work is very understandable and easy. The hosts(3 siblings)are welcoming, and you can tell they love the hostel. There's no staff members, only 3 volunteers that are fully responsible for the hostel. The hosts would show up late or drunk(night shifts). Some health issues that were reported but not fixed i.e. the cat had fleas and would go on all of the beds and we had no way to sanitize/wash our things. The communication needs work, between you and the host as well as between the hosts. Sadly I left early, but think it has potential depending on the person.

Rachel sorry you put a reviws of the hostel in five day in total that you was with us . and you don'leave you escape from the hostel without any respect for the people that work there and the other volunteer thats its not a way to do thi experience . we do training with you and if you have a problem speak with us and ask no escape and left us without any esplication . i hope that you will understand in the next experience .
