This was my first time in Costa Rica and especially as a volunteer but this experience at the lodge was incredible. Sandra and Ángel are very welcoming and caring people who always have ideas for you and will always find something to make you laugh too😂the place is absolutely beautiful for a complete change of scenery and working there is an experience I will never forget. I can't wait to go back already!!! ✨

It was my first experience as a volunteer and I am extremely happy to have spent these 3 weeks with Sandra and Angel! They welcomed us with extreme kindness and happiness all day long. the lodge will always be one of my favorite destinations to admire nature and spend time (with music ;) ) with lovely people ! This was my first experience working as a volunteer. I have a amazing experience. Sandra and angel are so lovely people. They take me every where they go and show me a lot of things and introduce me to a lot of nice people. I will definitely go there every time I go to Costa Rica

The rainforest is lush and quiet and full of wildlife. Do this experience if you want to stay in one place, get to know Angel and Sandra, their love, and their friends, and lean into their life. Things not on profile: - listed host (daughter) not part of experience - every homecooked meal is eaten altogether - the couple knows little English; suggest intermediate Spanish - the main task is building a new house, not the listed tasks; but you have flexibility on where you help - the volunteer dorm is makeshift; bugs everywhere that will bite you in the night (no mosquito nets)

Angél and Sandra were excellent hosts especially considering we spoke little to no Spanish! We were unfortunate to not meet the daughter however the parents were both lovely hosts for the three of us. The accommodation and hospitality is perfect for experiencing volunteering in a lovely part of the Costa Rican jungle. Angél was even nice enough to take us zip-lining and to a nearby waterfall :)

WE TRULY LOVED OUR EXPERIENCE AT the lodge...💓 Me and my husband we volunteered at the lodge for 3 weeks and 3 days... Each moment of our volunteering expérience was really cool ! The family of Emrende the lodge (Sandra, Angel and Dariela) is very nice who has à great project of organic farming on sustainability and natural living which is pretty interesting.We worked on permaculture, construction, painting, etc. We learned à lot from Angel's expériences on construction and Sandra's on cooking and spanish language. We definitely recommend volunteering for the lodge!Muchos gracias!
