I only spent one night here but their estate was beautiful. Sandra y Angel were incredibly nice and very understanding. If you are okay with being deep into the jungle with incredible people and some insects, this is a great choice for you!

Angel and Sandra are wonderful people, very caring and sweet. The farm is far from the village but this contribute to the immersion experience. We had the pleasure to live as local people and to meet some of them. All in all, it was a mind blowing experience, that we recommand to other. Plus, we really improved in Spanish and learnt about the life in a finca :)

I loved my time at the Finca and I am so happy about choosing this experience!!! Sandra and Angel are amazing people with a big heart, open mind and they made me feel so comfortable and welcomed! The Finca is absolutely stunning, in the midst of beautiful nature and animals. I learned a lot from my time there from cooking, working with plants, substanibility, recycling to the generell living of locals in Costa Rica. You can find a lot of time to connect with the nature but also with yourself. Ps: I was happy to bring a moscitonet :)

If you keep in mind you are going to work on a farm, this is a great experience. I appreciated the large portions of good food (thank you Sandra) and the flexibility of the schedules. I do have to say who you are with greatly effects your experience there as there aren't many other people you interact with other than the family and other volunteers. That being said there is also Missy the cat that will always be there to hang out. Overall I would recommend this experience to anyone looking to work on a small farm and learn about Costa Rican culture.

I had an amazing experience! The hosts and other volunteers were so kind and welcoming, and felt like family. The work is pretty physical, but we took a lot of breaks and sometimes did activities instead of working. The farm is beautiful and in a very rural, jungle area so be prepared for cold showers, minimal cell phone service, a lot of bugs, and a long walk to town whenever you need anything. The hosts also do not really speak any English, so the experience is going to be more challenging unless you speak a decent amount of Spanish. I loved my time there and I really felt at home!

From the start, we we felt at home at the lodge. Angel and Sandra were very welcoming and Sandra is a great cook. We had a fun time with the karaoke parties with other volunteers. The work was mostly gardening (planting, weeding, shoveling, etc.). They have lots of sheep and plants : cocoa trees, plantains, and many other things in the garden. The farm is also close to a pepper and vanilla farm that you can visit. The farm is quite isolated but 30-40mins away, there is the wonderful river, supermarkets, bakeries, waterfalls... We had a great two weeks here and made lots of friends

I had the chance to spend 15 days with Sandra y Angel: I totally merged in their way of living, sharing and being alive. I am really grateful for the experience I had, being the only volunteer there made it even deeper. I'd definitely recommend this finca to the ones who want to share a truthful time spent in nature, tranquility and tica culture; you will learn something new everyday: geography, politics, food, yourself! Espero que todos los deseos y proyectos que tienen se hagan realidad algún día, estoy segura de que así será porque realmente sabes cómo hacer q las cosas sucedan!Un abrazo

This was my first volunteer experience and I loved it. Angel and Sandra are very kind and awesome hosts, who were very interested on my thoughts as well. The work was most of the time very easy but at some points it can be hard as well. I was able to improve my Spanish because they only speaking in spanish to you, which helps a lot. I would recommend this for everyone who loves the nature because the “city” is very far away. It was an awesome experience with many new impressions. ;)

This was my partner and I's first Worldpackers experience and we loved it! Although we speak very little Spanish we got to know Sandra and Aja very well over the two weeks we stayed with them. (And had lots of practice learning Spanish!) We were helping them build a new house and our projects varied from day to day. From painting shelves, digging holes, helping them move wood, and washing dishes, it was rewarding work where we felt like we were making an impact. The heat and humidity was an adjustment but we were given plenty of breaks and rest. On average we worked for about 3 hours a day.

I had troubles with my flights, which forced me to stay home in the end and never arrive there. But the communication and respect was definitly amazing. They were very kind and welcoming me for a next time, I hope I can make it there soon! :)
