Sandra and Angel are really accomodating and kind. I can't speak any Spanish, but Angel and Sandra were really patient with me and they were happy to use translate when I needed it. The work we did at the lodge varied including construction, gardening and animal care. I would recommend using your initiative on jobs that need to be done in the morning as there were no explicit instructions. However, the morning routine was always the same. Overall, I loved my 2 weeks at the lodge. It was a lot of fun, super peaceful and Angel and Sandra are awesome!

We spent two incredible weeks on the farm with Sandra and Angel and couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the start, we felt welcomed and involved in everything. We did a wide range of different jobs, which made it an amazing learning opportunity, alongside our daily routine tasks like feeding the goats and cleaning the pens. Having that structure was great, as we always knew what was expected of us. Sandra is an amazing cook and prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Both Sandra and Angel were patient, kind, and generous, making us feel at home every single day!

Sandra and Angel were the loveliest hosts to start my WorldPackers journey with. From the moment they picked us up from the airport I felt welcome and safe with them, regardless of the language barrier. Despite this, all tasks, schedules, and activities were clearly communicated throughout our stay. If you love cooking, Sandra enjoys sharing her recipes and spending time together in the kitchen. The work can be hard, but it is truly one of the most worthwhile experiences I have had in my life. I would recommend knowing a little bit of Spanish to make communication even easier.

My time at the lodge was amazing, as I got to immerse myself in a cultural experience & connect with nature. Sandra and Angel are wonderful hosts that truly make you feel like apart of the family. Some things to know beforehand: 1. There are a LOT of bugs and if you are easily freaked out by them, this isn't for you (we brought bug spray and purchased a mosquito net at the supermarket there) 2. It is pretty remote and it takes about 40 min to walk to the river/town 3. There is one shared bathroom for the volunteers w/ a cold shower. We went to a local waterfall & La Fortuna too.

From the moment I met Angel and Sandra I felt welcome and safe. They are patient and kind and eager to make you part of the family. There is a variety of chores like cutting flowers for the goats, sweeping out their pen, raking, light building, washing dishes and assisting with meal preparation. Sandra is a good cook and prepares 3 balanced meals/day, along with a refreshing snack! If you are seeking to connect with others and enjoy the outdoors, (and can tolerate the heat, humidity, dirt and bugs) I highly recommend this experience. Our time at the lodge has left a mark on my heart!
