Volunteering at the lodge was an amazing experience from start to finish. At first I was nervous because they mostly speak Spanish but we used a translator when necessary & it was an amazing way to learn Spanish. Angel & Sandra are very welcoming & I felt like I was a part of their family. They treat you with so much respect & they are super funny too. The work can be tiring (around 3 hours per day) but it is so rewarding & worth it. I learned about myself, Costa Rica, farming, gardening, & even cooking! They love to share their wisdom!I highly recommend this place! i learned so much :)

I had a great time at the lodge! After 2 weeks there it really started feeling like another home. Sandra and Angel were great hosts. The meals were great and we learned how to make most of the dishes we ate. It was also very neat to eat produce grown on the farm (like yuca) and to be a part of growing it (we planted pineapple). I also had a chance to learn some Spanish and put what I learned to use daily. Sanda and Angel also took us out to volcan Arenal and some local waterfalls. Would recommend volunteering here!

I absolutely loved staying with Sandra and Angel from minute one until the very end, they made my first experience like this so welcoming and loving and i would do anything to stay with them again in the future. beautiful land, amazing food, a plethora of learning experience and more and more each day. They are the funniest kindest people ever and anyone would be so lucky to stay with them.

Angel and Sandra were the most welcoming people. We were fed three homemade Costa Rican meals per day and they were always amazing. We would work in the morning and spend our afternoons by the river or on an excursion with Sandra and Angel. My Spanish has improved greatly as they mainly only speak Spanish. This was a bit of a challenge when delegating tasks for work but Sandra would show us what we had to do so it was no problem. Overall I had a great experience at the lodge and I will def be back!

Angel and Sandra were great hosts! Despite the language barrier, they teach you about Costa Rican culture and beliefs, make traditional food every meal (and Sandra is a phenomenal chef). The language barrier does not effect the experience at all because it teaches you to catch on to Spanish even subconscious along with the little Spanish lesson they provide, they also use translate if things become to unclear. They are such playful hosts you can't stop laughing and they really make you feel accepted into their home. The work is exactly as agreed upon and they give breaks with fresh fruit also

We had a great and unique experience at the lodge!! Sandra and Angel are very lovely people and made us feel at home! The farm is located in the middle of nowhere, the perfect place to connect with nature. The volunteers have their own house, which is relatively basic. The work usually takes 3h a day and can be quite exhausting. After lunch, you have a lot of free time to do other activities. On some days we went on excursions with the two of them, which gave us an insight into the lives of others. Sandra and Angel only speak Spanish, which was a great way to improve our knowledge!

It was our first volunteer experience and I really enjoyed it! Sandra and Angel made us feel like we were a little family. The food was very delicious and very diverse. We learned a lot about different costa rican meals. They have 3 Dogs, a cat, sheep and goats. We were even able to be present at different births (goat and sheep) and got to take care of the cute little babies. While Working Sandra prepared fruits for a quick brake almost every day. The Nature at the lodge is really beautiful and when you look closely you will be able to see some toucans.

I spent 2 weeks here and really enjoyed my stay there. The hosts Sandra and Angel are so heartwarming and care about the volunteers like a family. The finca is in a rural area, but you can go swimming in the river or walk to the next town in circa 40 min. Sandra cooked delicious and fresh meals for us three times a day. We usually worked after breakfast time and had a lot of time to do other activities in the rest of the day. The volunteers share a room in their own small cabana next to the main house. I would really recommend you to come here if you like nature and meet the kindest hosts!

Sanja and Angel are generous and kindhearted people. They welcomed me as if I was part of the family. The working hours are very flexible and the overall vibe is nice and comfy. Be ready to taste wonderful traditional dish and have an immersive experience in the everday life of costarician people. My only regret is I wish I could have been able to talk proper spanish so as to be able to communicate and share more with them.

Sandra and Angel made us feel very welcome at their farm. They are really nice, friendly and openminded people and we miss them a lot! Their property is really beautiful and now and then you get to see monkeys, parrots and tucans! We had a lot of free time to take walks, go to the river(it's 30mins away and you can swim there)or just hang out in the hammock and read. For some money the will also take you on day trips (to La Fortuna for example). They also have 3 very cute dogs. I wish we spent more time there than just two weeks. If I ever come to Costa Rica again I will go to the farm again!
