Living with Angel and Sandra was truly a gift. I had the chance to meet amazing family who quickly made me feel like part of their home. I connected deeply with nature and the animals around us, learned so much about life in Costa Rica, and even improved my Spanish thanks to their patience and kindness. The lodge was such a unique and beautiful experience, the hosts angel and sandra are very welcoming and open their home to everyone, great meals were cooked and the time spent on the farm was wonderful. they do only speak spanish so communication can be rocky but they are very flexible and willing to teach! in all i recommend this experience to travelers that don't seek the big social aspect and have fun learning, and spending time in great nature!

I stayed with Angel and Sandra for 3 weeks and it was a truly immersive experience. I learned so much about the Costa Rican culture, people and food (amazing). They are such a lovely couple who can teach you about how they run the finca sustainably and Sandra has a lot of wisdom about life to offer. I would recommend knowing some Spanish as they only speak Spanish. Its a great way to improve! Most days consisted of working on the finca then relaxing in the afternoons, swimming in the river or going into town. It teaches you to slow down a bit and enjoy being in nature. Gracias por todo!

Angel & Sandra are very welcoming, kind & friendly hosts. Responsive on Worldpackers & WhatsApp prior to arrival to make sure that we could travel there okay, this was very helpful. Sandra's cooking was amazing and we were well looked after. The work was varied and always in the morning and wasn't too difficult but learnt a lot and the work was done before the hottest/wettest part of the day. The dogs were fun. We didn't have much interaction with the goats but did learn about the milk & cheese. We had lots of trips nearby as well. Will miss Angel's singing. Pack bug spray, you will need it!

Angel and Sandra are such a friendly and welcoming couple. We spent a week here and loved it. It seems there are a variety of volunteer opportunities as they have a number of accommodation options - I think dependent on number of volunteers. We stayed with them in their home and helped with wood clearance, and tree planting on the finca. We had 4 x meals a day, lovely traditional dishes, a lot of food sourced from their land, and got to try cheese and milk from the goats. The house is open to the elements, so you need to be okay with the heat/humidity and lots of bugs!

My time at the lodge was truly a wonderful experience! It was my first time solo traveling and my first world packers experience and Sandra and Angel made me feel so comfortable. Sandra's cooking was amazing and I miss it so much. I loved all the conversations we had about the world and about life in costa rica, I really felt like I was learning things. I could not have asked for a better first solo traveling experience, absolutely recommend!

Volunteering at Sandra and Angel's farm was truly a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Sandra is such an inspiring woman—deeply spiritual, wise, and always open to sharing her knowledge and stories. She makes you feel grounded and connected, and her traditional cooking is simply incredible. Every meal felt like a gift! Angel is the ultimate host and the life of the party. He has a huge heart, welcomes everyone with open arms, and makes you feel like part of the family from day one. I had the pleasure of staying 10 weeks at this farm and what an experience it has been! This farm is not only a place where you learn useful, practical skills like building, gardening, cleaning and problem solving, but more importantly is a place with a lot of wisdom about us humans and our place in nature and the universe. Sandra and Angel have so much knowledge to share, and you as a volunteer can also share your story! No matter your language background, all communication is valued here. But, this is also a great place if you want to learn/improve your spanish! ¡Gracias por todo!

De todas las experiencias positivas que he tenido en Costa Rica , mi tiempo en el alojamiento ha sido sin duda lo mejor, Ángel y Sandra son dos seres de luz que además te hacen sentir en casa desde el momento de la llegada he aprendido muchísimo de ellos. Fomentan un ambiente de colaboración maravilloso también he tenido momentos increíbles con los otros voluntarios con Soga, Ronald y Jannik. Espero volver en algún momento el alojamiento se ha ganado un hueco en mi corazón ❤️❤️
