The lodge is in a serene and calm environment surrounded by beautiful nature. Sandra and Angel welcomed us with open arms and ensured our experience was meaningful. They are amazing , thoughtful and kind. Sandra is an exceptional chef and always prepared delicious vegetarian options for me. I loved listening to their passionate stories, anecdotes as they shared about their culture, history, customs, etc. Such a humbling experience. The river is 3km walk from farm and it was a refreshing daily activity. I felt we could have done so much more to help this wonderful couple.

We had two really good weeks! We helped with the animals and worked in the garden. Also for vegetarians the three meals a day were really good. The river is a 30min walk and the village a 40min walk away. Tip: Bring a moskito net+spray and clothes that can get dirty. Be carefull with the humidity - our things got moldy on the wet carpet. The daytrips we went on together were really nice. One was a bit expensiv and we didnt understand well why. It is a really nice, calm, green place and we enjoyed our time a lot! Thank you so much Sandra and Angel for this experience! We wish you all the best!☀

Sandra and Angel were very friendly, treated us with respect and we felt like home. We did daytrips at the weekend, which we liked a lot :) Only one time we had the feeling that the price for the trip was a bit high and we didn't realy understand what the costs were for. The work (feeding goats, cleaning the stables, gardening,..) was very interesting and we had a lot of fun with them and the other volunteers. Sandra cooks delicious food. We were allowed to use the laundry machine. Make sure to bring a moskitospray + net and clothes that can get dirty. Thanks for a wonderful time! 🐓🐐🌿😁🫂

Volunteering at the lodge was an amazing experience for me and Alex. Sandra and Angel were great hosts. We learned a lot from them and had a lot of fun, even if we don't speak much Spanish, they taught us some spanish. So they care about everyone and ensure that everyone is doing well. We learned about Costa Rica, farming, gardening, and cooking. was the best experience. They love to share their wisdom!! highly recommend this place! we learned so much :-) Thank you Sandra & Angel

Volunteering at the lodge was an amazing experience from start to finish. At first I was nervous because they mostly speak Spanish but we used a translator when necessary & it was an amazing way to learn Spanish. Angel & Sandra are very welcoming & I felt like I was a part of their family. They treat you with so much respect & they are super funny too. The work can be tiring (around 3 hours per day) but it is so rewarding & worth it. I learned about myself, Costa Rica, farming, gardening, & even cooking! They love to share their wisdom!I highly recommend this place! i learned so much :)

I had a great time at the lodge! After 2 weeks there it really started feeling like another home. Sandra and Angel were great hosts. The meals were great and we learned how to make most of the dishes we ate. It was also very neat to eat produce grown on the farm (like yuca) and to be a part of growing it (we planted pineapple). I also had a chance to learn some Spanish and put what I learned to use daily. Sanda and Angel also took us out to volcan Arenal and some local waterfalls. Would recommend volunteering here!

I absolutely loved staying with Sandra and Angel from minute one until the very end, they made my first experience like this so welcoming and loving and i would do anything to stay with them again in the future. beautiful land, amazing food, a plethora of learning experience and more and more each day. They are the funniest kindest people ever and anyone would be so lucky to stay with them.

Angel and Sandra were the most welcoming people. We were fed three homemade Costa Rican meals per day and they were always amazing. We would work in the morning and spend our afternoons by the river or on an excursion with Sandra and Angel. My Spanish has improved greatly as they mainly only speak Spanish. This was a bit of a challenge when delegating tasks for work but Sandra would show us what we had to do so it was no problem. Overall I had a great experience at the lodge and I will def be back!

Angel and Sandra were great hosts! Despite the language barrier, they teach you about Costa Rican culture and beliefs, make traditional food every meal (and Sandra is a phenomenal chef). The language barrier does not effect the experience at all because it teaches you to catch on to Spanish even subconscious along with the little Spanish lesson they provide, they also use translate if things become to unclear. They are such playful hosts you can't stop laughing and they really make you feel accepted into their home. The work is exactly as agreed upon and they give breaks with fresh fruit also
