The hostel has the best location, and we have everything we need. the job is simple, but do everything as Nina asks, she doesn't speak English, sometimes it's complicated but if you have patience, she will always be kind, gentle and will take care of you. Alex is patient and always available to help. If you want to meet Sofia, I recommend it.

I spent a month at Hostel N.1 and I had a truly unique experience. As all the other comments say, the work is straight forward but strict. You will be criticized a lot. Nina cares deeply about the hostel, the guests and the volunteers. She is not trying to make you feel bad, she is trying to make the best choices for the hostel. Even if I sometimes was frustrated or lost my patience, I am so glad I went to Sofia and got to meet Nina, Alex and the other volunteers. You will love Hostel N.1 by the end of your stay, and miss it when you leave. Thank you for everything!

I had a short but fascinating week in this hostel. The tasks were simple. The hostel is located in the very center of the city near the source of mineral water. During the practice, I got acquainted with many interesting people from rack countries. Thanks to Nina and Sasha for the beautiful time.

Alex is a wonderful host! This was my first experience as a volunteer and I loved every single second of it. I learned some new skills and practiced others which I had already forgotten. The hostal's environment is really nice and if I had any issue, Alex was always there to help me out. I will definitely come back since I want to explore a little bit more of Sofia. Highly recommend this hostal if you're starting your journey as a volunteer 😃🖤

I had a great time at the hostel. Nina (who takes care of us) can be quite exigent, but if you learn how things work and do your job properly, she becomes this affective mother for all the volunteers. The hostel is well located, you can perfectly enjoy your stay in Sofía. Thank you for everything!, Alex and Nina!

It was a good experience. I learned and had the opportunity to improve personal qualities. working hours are respected and the big "secret" is to do things as Nina says :) The volunteers made everything cooler and more fun. I just have to thank everyone who crossed my path 🥰

It was my first volunteer activity. I met wonderful teammates. I cannot explain how wonderful they are enough. Alex and Nina are also nice people. You may face some troubles with Nina because we have a crucial difference on the culture. You can feel better with Nina after you get used to tasks.

Volunteering at Hostel n1 was an amazing experience! The activities are simple, methodical and should be performed with the same perfection of Nina. She's who teach us the cleaning and organization activities. Alex isn't all the time present in the hostel, but he's always available on WhatsApp to support us. Unfortunately I had to shorten my stay, but I got good new contacts, and I was able to get to know the city well on my days off and see snow for the first time. The accommodation it's good and the food was restored whenever we needed it. A special thanks to Alex, Nina and Hosteln1 family ❤

Alex and Nina are very generous hosts and I had a lovely time at this hostel. The volunteers are amazing and it was great to meet guests. Nina even showed me how to make potato pies. However, there is a high expectation for cleanliness and specific ways of doing things. But, once you learn them and build trust with Nina it's easy. Give yourself a week to adjust.
