I loved my time at N1 hostel! The place is so clean and well kept. Alex is very communicative and incredibly flexible. It was also great chatting with him and learning more about his experience managing hostels in Bulgaria. I received most of my training from Nina who is absolutely lovely. The first week was mostly learning the ins and outs of the different shift tasks. There is also a binder with reminders on what to do at what times for each shift. I truly enjoyed getting to connect with the other volunteers and the various guests. I'll always love stopping by to say hi whenever the hostel!

Hostel N1 has left me one of the best memories during my trip the hostel, I enjoyed it and had a great time. The hostel is practically in the city center, you have everything you need a few steps from the hostel. Thanks to Nina and Alex, my volunteering has been spectacular, I have no words to describe how kind they have been to me. The hostel tasks are exactly what they explain to you and the schedules are flexible. I felt very welcomed and extending my stay was not difficult at all. That is why I recommend volunteering at Hostel N1, thanks a lot to Alex and Nina for this incredible experience

This was my first volunteering experience and couldn't be better ❤️ Nina is sweet and have a mothers heart, and Alex is super chill and patiente. The experience was great, the work is easy and the hours are respected. The first week is a little bit harder because we are learning, but when you learn the tasks, is super ok. We connect with a lot of international guests and practice a lot of languages, the location is amazing and we can go out walking or take the metro easily, and they also provide basic food, which was great! 5 stars experience that I'll never forget. Thank you Nina and Alex!

Alex and Nina are very kind people. I had a lot of fun at this hostel. The volunteers are incredible; we were always laughing. Nina is responsible for teaching us, being quite demanding about cleaning. The first week is always the most challenging, as we are learning the local routines. The work is not difficult; There are days with more tasks and days with less. There are three shifts and a schedule to follow, and each day we work a different shift, which I loved. The scale is always announced in advance, making it easier to plan our week. A hug to Alex and Nina, thank you very much!

They expected a 10 star review from me and when i didn't leave a review straight away they contacted Worldpackers saying i didn't show up. Im English and Nina only speaks Russian, which caused miscommunications. She would give me filthy looks if i didn't hear the bell in reception when cleaning other rooms. The work is extreme for a volunteer position as you are there to maintain their Number 1 name. They even have a list where if you miss a task, they write down your name with the threat of you being kicked out. Alex, Nina's son won't like me being truthful about my stressful experience.

Unfortunately, Kaitlin, who joined us for a one-and-a-half-month term, left early in her volunteer term, failing to fulfill her promised commitment and neglected to follow the detailed instructions provided. She predominantly spent her time engrossed in her phone, requiring constant reminders from us regarding tasks, which drained our time and energy and rendered her volunteer assistance negligible. And she took the money with a promise to return it and did not return it (looks like a steal)

I understand volunteering as something light and pleasant, but the military way they like it to be done for me doesn't work, because I couldn't feel good about the threats I suffered to pay fines for doing my job, also due to the lack of training on new shifts when I was alone, I was constantly reprimanded because it seemed like I already had to know how to do the work. So as not to have more hassle deciding to leave early from volunteering for the first time. But, during the time I was there, I was able to make beautiful friends with wonderful people.

You're lying, we have no fines. It's true that we are very strict. We require that the volunteer not be lazy 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
