The Experience

Our community also runs a sustainable business with a cozy vegetarian café & restaurant with focus on health and happiness. We wish to share our love for sustainable food and living with our guests. We want people to feel at home and relax in nature. There is always lots to do in the kitchen with preparing the vegetarian food, cleaning up or preparing the Bed & Breakfast rooms. So lots to learn and do, it's a great atmosphere in Summer.

I really enjoyed my time here! Every member of the farm was so welcoming and kind, and made me feel right at home. I found my accommodation on the farm to be really cozy (I shared a room with two other female volunteers), but it does take a day or two to settle in. In terms of work, the tasks were clear and hours were observed. Hours were 8:00-1:30 with a half hour break included, and the tasks weren't tough, but you have to be willing to get your hands dirty! Overall, it was such a peaceful week filled with nature and community, and I'd highly recommend this experience :-)

Since this was my first Worldpackers exchange and also my first solo trip, I was a bit nervous at the beginning, especially because I can be quite shy. But from the moment I arrived, everyone was super welcoming and friendly. I got along really well with the other volunteers, which made the whole stay even more enjoyable. The dorm was different from what I had expected (e.g compost toilets), but in the end it was totally fine, I just did not know about it before applying. The work at the café was good, I especially enjoyed helping out with the B&B rooms and food was always delicious.

We had such a wonderful experience! The welcome and hospitality were truly heartwarming, and everyone was incredibly kind and patient. What made it even more special was the chance to meet many volunteers from all over the world and to create new friendships. We are deeply grateful for the generosity and the unforgettable experience that was shared with us, and we truly hope to come back in the future!

This was my second time at the community and I would come back again! What makes this experience so special to me is that you really feel like you're home away from home and meet so many amazing people, with whom you can spend your free time (and you get a lot of free time you can spend in nature or at the farm) :) For most of us, it presented a lot of new experiences, like feeding chicken, using compost toilets etc., just a great place to learn :))

Only english speaking, no german (as in the description). We got sick there, but we were very well cared for. Generally, the members on the farm were very welcoming, with a wide variety of people. The food is interesting and tastes good, but not as "the community," "healthy," or varied as I had imagined... It was a nice stay and we got to meet many other volunteers. Many Germans were there :)
