The experience

Be the heart of our hostel! This isn't just a volunteer role—it's a deep dive into hostel operations. You'll master check-ins, become a local expert, and solve daily challenges, all while being the friendly face that guests remember. Gain invaluable hands-on experience in hospitality and see how a thriving hostel runs from the inside out. This is a unique chance to learn, grow, and create amazing guest experiences.


What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.


What you get

1 day off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English or Beginner Chinese

Over 22 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Rules

-Previous experience in a hospitality role is a big plus but not required. We value enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.

-Basic skills with MS Office and/or Google Workplace.

-Fluency in at least two additional languages is required to effectively communicate with our diverse range of guests (Mandarin fluency is a bonus)

-Availability to work weekends or holidays may be required.

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and stay calm under pressure.
