I really enjoyed my time at the hostel! The staff, volunteers and management team are all lovely and welcoming. I mainly worked at the bar and breakfast shifts, with normally 4 days off per week. Plenty of time to explore the hostel the surrounding areas 😊 accomodation wise, we had our own bathroom, kitchen use and were given tokens to do our laundry for free. there's a great social atmosphere here so you'll never be bored. Highly recommend and would come back

All the staff from the hostel is amazing and the environment is very welcoming. I was able to travel to other parts of Scotland because the shifts are flexible and not so many days of the week. Hope is very sweet and the people from the bar, where I worked during my experience, too. I highly recommend the hostel for a worldpackers trip.

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel, I stayed for 2 months. Everyone was warm & welcoming, staff & volunteers. I did a mix of housekeeping, bar & breakfast shifts. Some shifts are busier than others but you're not alone. Hope was happy to adjust our shifts when we had trip plans. I think the work is super fair for what we got: accomm with own bathroom & kitchen use, free breakfast & laundry, food & drink discount, and in a great location. I really enjoyed the experience, met heaps of wonderful people & got to see lots. I would recommend the hostel to other volunteers!

The hostel is in a great location, the staff is lovely and very welcoming, as are the other volunteers, the work is good, you get to meet a lot of people, you'll have plenty of free time to enjoy the amazing city of the hostel they can be very flexible about your work hours, just ask before hand. The room is good, is a suite with a private kitchen, two rooms, they do provide token and soap so you can use the laundry room and free use of the pool table. I honestly loved it there and would 1000% come back

This was my first time volunteering and I wasn't expecting how amazing this experience would be for me. I worked mostly at the bar and some days on breakfast. The bar was incredible, I had such a great time! I learned how to bartending and serving, everyone there was fun, welcoming and friendly. The managers are great, especially Hope, they always try to make things work the best for you. I loved Edinburgh, such a nice city with lots of great bars and beautiful spots. I struggled a little bit at first because of the accent but I'm glad that I got used to it quickly.

My experience was so great. I didn't really like the job and tasks I was doing, but it was what it was supposed to be. I did breakfast, floor staff at the bar, and housekeeping. The great point is that all the staff, managers, and other worldpackers were young, fun, nice, and very welcoming. The managers are very flexible, you can ask for special shift or task. The room is nice, we had TV, fridge, microwave, and bathroom in the room. The hours were ok, between 20 and 25 per week. I loved Scotland, I had enough time to travel around in the countryside during my days off. I recommend !!!

My experience with the hostel was great! The room I stayed in was very comfortable, and the work was doable. I typically bartended 25 hours in the week with three days off. Edinburgh is a beautiful city, and the hostel is in a central location so it is easy to walk around and explore. All of the staff and volunteers were really friendly and I made some great friends during my stay. This was my first volunteer job with world packers the hostel made it a great experience :)

I had an amazing time here. I got pretty bad tonsillitis like 2 days after I got there and everyone was really understanding and Hope even got me soup and smoothies to help me feel better. They didn't make me feel like an imposition or anything like that even though I couldn't do any shifts for about a week while I recovered. The friends I made there and everyone I worked with were amazing. Edinburgh is a magical city the hostel is in a great location to be able to walk to most of the important spots. It's also on a very nightlife heavy street so getting to lots of cool bars is very easy :)
