Great first worldpacking experience! Hours were reasonable, and they were always willing to accommodate my remote job or travel plans. We did breakfast and housekeeping shifts. Hanging out with other volunteers made the time amazing, and the perks like free breakfast and hot drinks were lovely. That said, this is not a social hostel, so it's hard to meet other travelers. Also, the rooms have no storage, the guest kitchen is lacking, and the only hangout spot is the bar. It's more of a hotel vibe. Overall, it was an awesome adventure, in a great location, and I'd recommend it to see Edinburgh

I had a very great time in the hostel. I could have the opportunity to meet lovey people and work in a very good environment. The schedule its very good, breakfast 7am-1pm or housekeeping 10am-4pm. Its also very flexible because i could travel around and go to Highlands which was my dream to go. I only worked 3 days per week so all good. Thanks for the opportunity and i am really looking being here again.

I had a great experience at the hostel! It was my first volunteering and I couldn't wish for a better one. The hostel is very well located and the working hours are perfect, so that you can enjoy Edinburgh as much as you like. The assignments were simple and easy to learn. There was a delicious breakfast provided every day and the accommodations were cozy and clean. The managers are very friendly, attentive and flexible. I highly recommend it! :)

My stay in the hostel was amazing! I really enjoyed this volunteering because I could feel that I was a volunteer and not a worker. We help the staff and the hours are very fair and they are flexible and we need to change anything. I spent most of my time exploring the hostel Scotland and it was awesome!!! Love it and recommend for sure

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I could not have asked for a better place! The staff and other volunteers were so lovely and welcoming. The nightly events at the bar were a great way to get to know people and spend time with the other volunteers. The working hours were very flexible, with several days off, allowing you to explore Edi. A great experience overall :)

From the get-go, all of the staff including managers and other workers were all so friendly and welcoming. I was lucky enough to bartend as my volunteer position, and as having no experience bartending, I've never felt more comfortable learning something new. I wish I could've met more worldpacker volunteers, as my coworkers were all locals and fulltime staff. However this did not take away how kind and welcoming they all were.

I had a really amazing time at the hostel! The work is quite intense, but it's only 3 days a week, and they always respected requested days off on the schedule! The staff were fantastic, I'm so glad to have met them. They no longer offer bartending and reception jobs, which was a surprise. Volunteers only do housekeeping and breakfast shifts. It's in a great location within Edinburgh, but the lack of hostel common area made it difficult to meet other travellers beyond fellow volunteers! Overall, though, I definitely recommend them!! My experience was fair, so fun, and I fell in love with Edinburgh!!

My experience overall was good, i could practice my english, i could share with more travellers and with some members of the staff. Also i could enjoy the Fringe experience during August. The hostel doesn't have like a common area where you can really share, so basically we where using the space from the bar all the time, and sometimes was very busy ans you coudn't find a proper spot to eat or to chill beside your room. The work is ok, you work 3 days at week and the rest you are free, and they are very flexible with the shifts

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. Not only we're the people very kind but the work was not bad and got many days off. Its in a great spot in edinburgh close to many great spots such as royal mile street and the castle. I will miss the amazing volunteers. Thankyou for a great experience

The hostel is a great place, I have learned how a hostel works and how complicated it can be, but there are also a few problems with lack of communication and sometimes the volunteers can be overworked, it is not often but it can happen. It is important to remember that we are volunteering and not hired professionals. Besides that, I met some great people, had a lot of fun, participated in the quizz nights and karaoke of the fifty bar and had a lot of their delicious hot chocolates. I really appreciate the opportunity and would come back if opportunity comes.
