The hostel has everything it promises. Kind staff, flexible scheduling, 4 days off, full variety breakfast, unbeatable location, nightly bar events (and staff discounts), and you often finish work early! Could be better but workable: the wifi doesn't do video well, the kitchen is bare bones, and the only “communal” space is the bar. Also, it's more like a hotel than a hostel!

The hostel provided a great experience for my time in Edinburgh. The team and paid staff were happy to help whenever needed and the hours were fair and gave you more than enough time to explore and do your own thing throughout the city. The one thing I will say is that the kitchen is lacking in a number of things that would be helpful to have and one of volunteer rooms is only beds while the other room has a fridge, a couch, TV and other things. All in all, it is a great environment and the other volunteers were all so nice and friendly and I would highly recommend the hostel

The hostel really shaped my incredible experience of Edinburgh! The volunteers I worked with were all so much fun and such good people, and the permanent the hostel staff were so kind too. The work was even less hours than stated which was great, and the brekkie is pretty extensive! Also Bar 50 which is part of the hostel is a hit with locals and constantly has new people to meet. The location is awesome, really close to quite literally everything you could want. The only negative part of the experience at all was that I felt like we didn't really have a place to hang out other than the bar or outdoors.

Great first worldpacking experience! Hours were reasonable, and they were always willing to accommodate my remote job or travel plans. We did breakfast and housekeeping shifts. Hanging out with other volunteers made the time amazing, and the perks like free breakfast and hot drinks were lovely. That said, this is not a social hostel, so it's hard to meet other travelers. Also, the rooms have no storage, the guest kitchen is lacking, and the only hangout spot is the bar. It's more of a hotel vibe. Overall, it was an awesome adventure, in a great location, and I'd recommend it to see Edinburgh

I had a very great time in the hostel. I could have the opportunity to meet lovey people and work in a very good environment. The schedule its very good, breakfast 7am-1pm or housekeeping 10am-4pm. Its also very flexible because i could travel around and go to Highlands which was my dream to go. I only worked 3 days per week so all good. Thanks for the opportunity and i am really looking being here again.

I had a great experience at the hostel! It was my first volunteering and I couldn't wish for a better one. The hostel is very well located and the working hours are perfect, so that you can enjoy Edinburgh as much as you like. The assignments were simple and easy to learn. There was a delicious breakfast provided every day and the accommodations were cozy and clean. The managers are very friendly, attentive and flexible. I highly recommend it! :)

My stay in the hostel was amazing! I really enjoyed this volunteering because I could feel that I was a volunteer and not a worker. We help the staff and the hours are very fair and they are flexible and we need to change anything. I spent most of my time exploring the hostel Scotland and it was awesome!!! Love it and recommend for sure

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I could not have asked for a better place! The staff and other volunteers were so lovely and welcoming. The nightly events at the bar were a great way to get to know people and spend time with the other volunteers. The working hours were very flexible, with several days off, allowing you to explore Edi. A great experience overall :)

From the get-go, all of the staff including managers and other workers were all so friendly and welcoming. I was lucky enough to bartend as my volunteer position, and as having no experience bartending, I've never felt more comfortable learning something new. I wish I could've met more worldpacker volunteers, as my coworkers were all locals and fulltime staff. However this did not take away how kind and welcoming they all were.

I had a really amazing time at the hostel! The work is quite intense, but it's only 3 days a week, and they always respected requested days off on the schedule! The staff were fantastic, I'm so glad to have met them. They no longer offer bartending and reception jobs, which was a surprise. Volunteers only do housekeeping and breakfast shifts. It's in a great location within Edinburgh, but the lack of hostel common area made it difficult to meet other travellers beyond fellow volunteers! Overall, though, I definitely recommend them!! My experience was fair, so fun, and I fell in love with Edinburgh!!
