I had no idea what to expect when I chose this last-minute volunteer opportunity, but it turned into a truly magical experience. The work was simple, yet the warmth of the team made it unforgettable. Sharing a room with people from all over the world brought lifelong friendships. The staff, like Lauren, Rithvik, Martin, Mel, Ryan, and Alex, became my support system, always there with kindness. the hostel isn't just a place—it's a family and safe space that makes you feel at home and valued for who you are. I'm so grateful, especially to Ryan, for being part of my beautiful journey.

Had such a great time at the hostel the team are really nice and I got plenty of time to see the city and venture out and see more. Made some great friends and memories. Definitely in my back pocket to come back :)

Volunteering at the hostel was an amazing opportunity. We all had 1 breakfast and 2 housekeeping shifts per week and always finished in the early afternoon so there was so much time to explore the hostel see a ton of shows during the Fringe Festival. There are always other international volunteers there to socialise with and I definitely felt welcomed by them all. Ryan (the host) was super flexible with shifts if you had a preference on days you wanted to work, he always tried to accomodate requests and he's lovely to have a chat to. I would definitely recommend!

I had an amazing time! It was my first time volunteering and for the hours we worked and the location it was perfect! I was able to travel around the country and explore the city as well as spend time in the hostel with the other volunteers! I thought that overall the hours and work we did was very reasonable and was what I expected. I am so glad that I had this experience and am grateful I was able to do it here!!

My experience at the hostel has been amazing. The work can be tiring but still fair taking into account that we only worked 3 days a week, so you have plenty of time to discover the beautiful city of Edinburgh. The staff is generally very nice and willing to teach you how everything works. Special thanks to Ryan for his kindness and being so welcoming, and also to the other volunteers who made my stay unforgettable. Overall, it has been a pleasure to be able to volunteer in this hostel, so I would definitely reccommend the experience and can't wait to come back soon.

The hostel was my first volunteering experience, it was awesome, the environment is very nice and involving with everyone you will never feel lost, the other volunteers make it a better experience, and also the work is not very hard since you only work 3 days and rest normally 4 so thats amazing, i definitely recommend this volunteering to everyone that wants to explore, meet people and have a very nice time. thanks a lot for everything the hostel ryan!

Everything was absolutely amazing! Such a good hostel with cool workers. They all are so nice. They are so flexible with the working schedule, so you can make some roadtrips! The place is awesome, lots of people go there and there's always a good environment between bar-breakfast-reception workers. The only “bad” point is that we're not able to work on the bar anymore, as they offer. But the shifts are not long (if workers work fast)!!!

I had such an amazing time in Edinburgh that it truly felt like a second home to me. The staff was so nice every time, the volunteers were like a 2nd family to me and the I learned a lot in my time working in the hostel. The hours of working and the days off are really really fair, which is amazing because you'll have plenty of time to explore the city and the surroundings and you'll definitely make friendships for a lifetime. So glad to have been received in such an amazing place! Thank you to everyone!

This volunteer opportunity was amazing. All information is transparent and you get everything you are promised on the application. Work 3 days a week and are off for 4 so there is plenty of time to explore the city. I will say the work is hard, so be prepared, but in the end it felt rewarding, and I met so many amazing people. Both the staff and other volunteers are great company.
