I had the best 2 weeks ever at ARA! The hours and working conditions were very good and straight forward. The staff that work there permanently are incredible, they care so deeply for the animals. The accommodation is very good and comfortable. Working with the dogs and cats was a life experience I'll never forget. The animals there are so special and beautiful. All the volunteers were so amazing too, I made life long friends. My heart will always belong in ARA. Please don't hesitate to volunteer here, it is the best!

Coming to ara has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I travelled alone in order to get out of my comfort zone, and found a place that felt like a second home. The shelter was incredibly well organized and our duties were very clear and doable. The work times were perfect and there was enough time to explore the surroundings. I loved working with the animals and really bonded with them, which made it hard to say goodbye to them in the end. I will definitely come back to ara!

My time in ARA was just something else. Being my first solo experience I was a little bit scared before my stay. At first everything seemed a little bit much regarding the size of the shelter, the amount of dogs and cats and I felt a little bit lost. But everything turned out so well and probably into the BEST experience I had so far. I made lots of new friends with people all over the globe and enjoyed the work with the animals so much. It may sound cheesy but this experience kind of healed a part in me and gave me so much experience and some new perspective. Would love to come again!
