I had the best of times in Heeg! Luuk is a great manager, giving some freedom to the team do the work independently but at the same time always there to help us if needed. At the beginning I was a little nervous, cause it was my first time working as a waitress, but he helped me to feel confident to do the tasks and then I realized it was quite easy! Also, he cooked the best dinners ever and sometimes took the team to explore the surroundings or gave us lifts to places. So I 100% recommend this volunteer and I'll definitely miss this experience. There's so much that I could say about my experience. It was my first time working as a volunteer, and I really loved it! The town is small and comfy, it's very nice to walk around and go to the beach or nearby towns by bike. I liked the work as I had the chance to interact with local people and talk with them, and it was fun to take their orders and trying to have everything under control. Luuk was a great host, he was patient with my mistakes and helped me overcome them. The food he cooked was really good and the restaurant was lovely and beautiful. I would like to return! :)

I had a great experience at the host and I couldn't choose for a better place for my first volounteer. The village is really beautiful and I had a lot of time to explore it. I worked in the kitchen so I had the chance to learn how to cook a lot of different Dutch dishes and it took very little time to learn the job, thanks to Luuk who is an excellent theacher and a really good chef:) He is really a great person, good-hearted and always in a good mood and willing to help if needed. This experience will remain with me for life and I'm going to miss everything so much!!

I am very grateful to have had this experience and to have been my first volunteer. The work is very relaxed and you have the opportunity to get to know the customers. Heeg is a very pleasant place, full of nature and very peaceful. Luuk is an incredible human being, with a good heart, always in a good mood and available to help answer any questions, not to mention that he is an excellent cook. I already miss our dinners. I was also able to meet some people and make friends for life. The time I spent in Heeg will be an experience I will never forget. Thank you Luuk for everything!

I definitely had a great experience. If you are looking for a peaceful, safe, calm place close to nature, this is perfect place for u! It's amazing to walk through Heeg and see the little lakes, it gave me such a good vibe and peace. The small beach has def become my fav spot there. About the work: It's pretty calm, easy, fun and the guests are really friendly (they love to hear about our culture/country). Luuk is a very kind and nice person, he cooks SO GOOD! Omg I'm gonna miss our dinners so bad! I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to volunteer there! Thanks for everything Luuk

I'm very happy to have chosen the host as my first volunteering experience.I loved my time here in Heeg,It's a beautiful village full of nature. Luuk is an incredible host, I'm leaving very grateful & happy. My time here was more than I was looking for; the work is easy & fun,I found delicious food,friendly & smiling customers, I leaned some words in Dutch, & of course,the certainty of having had a very kind host, situations that as a person fill your heart & leave a lovely mark. :) 🫶🏼

I had a fantastic experience volunteering in the host! The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. The work at the restaurant was easy and fun and I really enjoyed it. I loved interacting with the guests, who were always friendly and eager to chat. Luuk was a fantastic host! He was friendly, kind, and always went out of his way to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. He is also an incredible chef and the dinners he prepares are delicious. Thank you to Luuk for welcoming me into his home and restaurant, and providing me with an incredible experience in Heeg. Doei Doei! =)

My experience at the host could not have been better. Everything in general is wonderful, starting with Luuk, a great host with good conversation who makes your days very easy. The work is also very easy going, the customers who come to the restaurant are very friendly and make things very easy for you. In addition, the food that Luuk prepares is very tasty and delicious. He also makes sure that the volunteers get to know the nearby towns and villages. All in all, I would go back there without hesitation. I was there for a month but I would stay longer.

This was my first time volunteering and solo travelling and I had a great time! The town itself is very small with not much to do, so it can feel like you are there for quite long. Because I was there in September, the restaurant was very quiet and there wasn't much work to do. Luuk very kindly picked me up and dropped me back off at the local train station, and even dropped me and some other volunteers in Amsterdam one day. Breakfast and lunch is bread, cheese, ham and spreads that you're able to use with dinner being a cooked meal. I'm happy to answer any questions about my experience x

I gave Zoe 5 stars, because she did her job well and I still recommend her to other hosts.
However, a few things I didn’t like:
You don’t have to ask 20 times a day “ how are you “ and Zoe was dressed often in a inappropriate way….
You are a host in a restaurant and it’s important that you are dressed properly.
For the rest I wish Zoe all the best in the future!!

I'm so glad that I chose the host (and was chosen by Luuk) for my first volunteer experience! As a first time sailor, I didn't know exactly what to expect, I was a little bit shy at the beginning and had a little difficulty with the language at the first week (as my english ain't so good yet). But, certainly I had a great time here in Heeg. It's a small city, very cozy and calm! The work was easygoing, you have a lot of free time to do whatever you want. Once again, I wanna thank Luuk, for the opportunity, by the way, I'm gonna miss watching Friends at lunchtime with him hahaha
