The school is a great choice for travelers looking to discover Kansai. The work is easy, a simple two-hour task, the atmosphere is nice, and the Japanese students living there are really friendly. The staff was great too. Plus, it's conveniently located between Kyoto and downtown the school. Highly recommended!

My time at the school was an unforgettable experience. As others said, the work is incredibly easy. The residents living there already pick up after themselves, so you're essentially just keeping the house clean a couple hours a day by vacuuming, wiping surfaces, and just small general cleaning tasks. Then I spent my third hour each day writing about my day on social media, whether about my adventures in Japan or interactions with the residents. The residents/my new friends would often invite me out to dinner or events with them, which made my time even better. Thank you!!

This was one of my most relaxing experiences in Japan with just the perfect local vibe. The Work is very REASONABLE. Bill asked us to do basic house keeping for 1 hour during the weekdays and for the rest of the time we worked on side projects to benefit the house. The house is a great conduit to speak with natives and the international residents .They make you feel at home and connected to Hirakatashi.

The school is the perfect place for a traveller looking to discover the Kansai area! The work is super easy compared to other experiences. Bc there was 2 of us, it was just cleaning for 1 hour and then an individualized project/yard work to complete the rest of the 15 required hours on our own time. While I was there, the language school wasn't busy, so we did not need to help out there, but during peak school season, you might!! The location is residential, but it's perfect if you're looking to explore bc it's central between Kyoto and downtown the school. Super comfortable space and highly recommend!!!

The school has a fun and friendly atmosphere, and is a good opportunity to chat to Japanese people hoping to practise their English. The work, consisting of cleaning, is easy and the hours are respected. The location is great - you can explore both the school and Kyoto very easily! The house is quite quiet at the moment due to Covid, which is to be expected, but I would love to come back in future when the situation has improved!

The school is a great experience I personally felt at home outside of home. All the guest are amazing people to meet and they all have great attitude. Hosts are amazing they really allowed you to get involved with the english teaching/practicing activities and are open and supportive to any iniciative. Thanks Katie, Arata, Bill and Johnson for the great organization at the place. The tasks here are very fair and enjoyable. Hirakata city is a great pleace to meet the daily Japanese lifestyle.

I stayed in the school for 3 weeks and absolutely had the best time. This was my first solo trip and I'm so glad I chose Japan. My host Arata san was very kind and welcoming, and she was also accommodating after the fact that I had to cut my supposed 1 month trip short because of the coronavirus so I had to go back home. My housemates were very nice and I definitely gained new friends. The everyday tasks were really easy, and I had a lot of free time to discover places like Kyoto and Nara, and the rest of Hirakata as well. I hope I can come back again one day!
