OEH Osaka English House
Great location: between Osaka and Kyoto. You can easily go sightseeing in both cities. Perfect starting point for your new journey in Japan. Most of our former residents who wanted to stay longer in Japan eventually found jobs while staying with us.
Osaka English House is a co-living space created to promote an immersive language exchange environment for foreigners and Japanese alike. Volunteers will have the opportunity to fully experience day to day life with Japanese people. We would like to warmly welcome folks who are hardworking, friendly and want to meet a ton of cool people. With only a few hours of work per week and simple cleaning tasks, there is plenty of time to explore the area and the neighboring cities. If you have any talents or any work specialization related to business or language learning, we would love to have you on our team. We welcome both solo travelers and couples. We can’t wait to meet you!

OEH was my first volunteering experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better place! Everyone is so welcoming and kind, and we spent time together as a group going on trips or just chilling in the lounge. The hostel is also very close to the train station and it’s only 30 mins to either Kyoto and Osaka, and there’s plenty of time in the afternoon to explore each city which I loved. The work was very fair and enjoyable, mainly focusing on cleaning guests rooms and the common spaces. I couldn’t recommend OEH enough and I would love to come back one day!! :)

My experience at Osaka English House was amazing. I stayed for a month and a week, and it became one of my favorite experiences in Japan. The atmosphere was super warm and friendly, and I always felt at home. The tasks were easy to manage, and the people I met made everything even better.
I’m really sad to leave, but I hope I can come back someday. I truly recommend this experience to anyone. ✌️😋

OEH made my first trip to Japan something I’ll never forget. I spend a month in an incredible environment, full of fun and caring people. If you are looking to be part of a community far from your home, OEH is your place.
The task are easy to learn, and is fun to be part of the English program! In general the workload is light
I feel very inspired and motivated by the people I met, but especially for Ai and Audrey. When I first came I felt welcome, and now in my very last day I felt appreciated.
I cannot put together in words how grateful I am and how sad it feels to be leaving. Love ya’ll 🤍

This was my first time doing this and I had an amazing time. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. They were all so understanding and made me feel comfortable and I was able to be myself. It was amazing. Probably the best month of my life. The activities are great and everyone is so relaxed. Its perfect for those who are less into the party life and more into exploring and having an adventure making new friends along the way. I really had a good time!

My experience was really positive. From day one, I felt comfortable and welcome! It's a very cosy place with a warm atmosphere that quickly makes you feel part of a community. Audrey and Ai-chan are wonderful hosts, always kind, understanding and willing to make your stay unforgettable.
During my stay, my tasks was cleaning the common areas and guest-rooms, activities with students, and helping with video editing. All of these tasks give me plenty of free time in the afternoons to explore and go out.
I highly recommend this experience for a meaningful cultural exchange in a fun environment.
