OEH Osaka English House
Great location: between Osaka and Kyoto. You can easily go sightseeing in both cities. Perfect starting point for your new journey in Japan. Most of our former residents who wanted to stay longer in Japan eventually found jobs while staying with us.
Osaka English House is a co-living space created to promote an immersive language exchange environment for foreigners and Japanese alike. Volunteers will have the opportunity to fully experience day to day life with Japanese people. We would like to warmly welcome folks who are hardworking, friendly and want to meet a ton of cool people. With only a few hours of work per week and simple cleaning tasks, there is plenty of time to explore the area and the neighboring cities. If you have any talents or any work specialization related to business or language learning, we would love to have you on our team. We welcome both solo travelers and couples. We can’t wait to meet you!

This past month at OEH was soo fun and soo special.✨The work was not that hard and the 3 hours went by very fast. I loved hanging out with fellow volunteers and staff, and I am very grateful I got to meet all of those amazing people. Audrey and Ai-chan were/are so kind and understanding. The vibe at OEH is very chill and laid back which suited my easy-going lifestyle. The location is also perfect for exploring both Kyoto and Osaka.
I had such a blast while volunteering at OEH and I want to thank everyone for making my stay comfortable and unforgettable. I will cherish these memories forever.💗

My stay at OEH was so special and fun!! Audrey and Ai-chan were so friendly, helpful, and hardworking. We worked 3hrs/day (5 days/week) which involved cleaning rooms and common spaces, alongside practicing English with students. Also, the relaxed work hours gave me the opportunity to become good friends with the other volunteers as we would often hangout in the lounge or go shopping/sightseeing. The location is super convenient as well: OEH is close to the train station (easy to travel into Kyoto and Osaka) and shops.
I will miss everyone at OEH so so much 😭 Thank you for the amazing time 💗

OEH is far from Osaka and Kyoto, after few trips, it actually works out cheaper to stay there than here.Tiny rooms and beds so thin you feel the floor. The schedule was poorly managed: we wanted to leave earlier but we were forced to stay 2 extra days so others could take their days off when they wanted. Tasks were unevenly divided. Even after finishing everything, extra work was added just to hit exactly 3h. After 3 weeks (and even extending as they asked) we didn’t get any thanks or goodbye from Audrey. But thanks to Ai and her family for welcoming us kindly and saying goodbye respectfully.

Thank you for your review. We aim to clarify a few points. Our volunteers appreciate the convenient location as found on our profile:) We're happy to accommodate volunteer needs including private rooms. We would have gladly provided extra mattresses had you asked. As this is a work-exchange, we respectfully ask volunteers to honor agreed dates and the three hour work requirement. Unfortunately, last minute early departures especially by couples create difficulties as we count on your help.
