One of the best experiences of my life! Hirakata is a really convenient place to stay. Some of the volunteer spaces need a bit of work, but they are working on it. Everything was clean and comfortable anyway. The job itself was easy and the agreed working hours were respected. But the most important thing was the family I found. The sense of community in this place is the main reason to apply for this volunteer. Group activityies are organised every week, and you'll meet locals and other travellers. Ai chan and Audrey are great hosts, who helped and took care of me from day one. Thank you! ♥️

The school was filled with fun people, my experience with them was very relaxing! Hanging out in the lounge, going on day trips and Izakaya hopping are a formula for a very good time. The two ladies running everything, Audrey and Ai-Chan are possibly the most fun and nice people you can encounter in life. When something is up, they will try to help you with whatever needs to be done to ensure a comfortable stay. Together with the other volunteers and people who rent rooms there it felt like a fun and comfortable make-shift little family ;) Highly recommend!

I've been in the school in december and the experience was amazing. Working schedule is 3 hours per day, from 11 am to 2 pm, 5 days a week. Job is easy and vibes are great. The team of workers and other volunteers will make you feel at home. The House is placed between the school and Kyoto and you can take the train whenever you want to get to any of bouth cities in just 30 mins. so placement is great if you want to visit touristic places or just explore the region. I think the school will suit you It doesn't matter what you are looking for, a warehouse to explore the area or a community to be part of.

My time here has been wonderful, everybody from the staff to the volunteers made this experience something I'll never forget. The work hours are respected to the exact minute, so at 14 you put everything down, which I found really nice and very respectful towards the volunteers. The shared space is very nice, and I spent so much time in the lounge just hanging out. The kitchen space is also pretty big. Overall the school felt like a big family to me, and I couldn't be more thankful for everything 🙏🫶.

The school was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have asked for a better place! Everyone is so welcoming and kind, and we spent time together as a group going on trips or just chilling in the lounge. The hostel is also very close to the train station and it's only 30 mins to either Kyoto and the school, and there's plenty of time in the afternoon to explore each city which I loved. The work was very fair and enjoyable, mainly focusing on cleaning guests rooms and the common spaces. I couldn't recommend the school enough and I would love to come back one day!! :)
