I would rate my experience at the hostel well. The morning shift was always cleaning. While during the afternoon shift at the reception,we also had to da few laundries a day, so sometimes it felt like a lot of physical work. Salvo is a very welcoming and helpful host, who has a great knowledge about Sicily.Catania has a perfect location to travel around the island. There are several volunteers at the same time, so the atmosphere in the hostel is very friendly and there is always something going on.I will definitely have very fond memories of this time. Thank you Reza and Salvo : )

The working hours were respected, the environment in the hostel was very clean, the breakfast simple but good, the location very close to the center, the hostel is one of the most calm I've ever visited.

First volunteering experience: On arrival I was shown the hostel and volunteer room, explained the tasks and roster for the experience. Everything that was discussed before the experience was the same on arrival eg, hours, tasks, time off etc. The tasks were simple like cleaning with high standards expected, however this was communicated very well and also shown by the host to improve if needed. The host was very flexible with days off, rearranging my volunteering hours to allow me to visit the local area and again to visit a friend. I loved the time I spent there. I would recommend!!

I enjoyed my time in the hostel. The city of Catania is really gorgeous, a beach 20 minutes away and Etna on the horizon really makes the place dreamy. The work wasn't hard or complicated, mostly doing some cleaning and tidying up, although there could be a bit less of it or it could be distributed differently. Overall a great place to meet travelers, relax and enjoy Sicily.

My experience at the hostel was good, the staff welcomed me very well, I had a good time and made good friends! the hostel is known as the cleanest hostel in Sicily, it's a great place to live for a while. The location is great, close to the center, bus station and beaches. Even in winter Catania has comfortable weather! I hoped to immerse myself in Italian while volunteering but I barely heard Italian while I was there, the most spoken language is English and that's ok, I was able to practice English with the people. I recommend this place 100%, I hope to return one day! Thanks Reza and Salvo!

My first trip to Sicily was memorable, thanks to time spent at the hostel. As so many have mentioned, Salvo is indeed a really kind and sweet person who made me feel welcome rather quickly. Reza and Salvo complement each other very nicely. Reza was always ready to answer my questions and help me feel competent in dealing with the guests etc. Reza is rather chill and a very cool guy to have around. I enjoyed sharing my time in Catania with co-volunteers who luckily for me also happened to be nice and lovely people. I definitely recommend the hostel for everyone!

Volunteering at UrbanPop was so much fun! It was my first volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better. Salvo and Reza are awesome – really fun and helpful and they had many captivating stories to share. I also made a bunch of new connections with other volunteers and guests during my stay. UrbanPop has this cozy, homey vibe, and the big common area is perfect for hanging out. Plus, the place itself is super close to the city center. The tasks were explained clearly, and I got a great intro to the work. If you think about volunteering I would really recommend this place!

This was my first Worldpackers experience! Reza and Salvo made me feel welcomed! They are understanding and keep everything up to standard, if you hold yourself responsible to get your part done everything will run more than smoothly! They work with you through everything and you have fun while working and spending time at the hostel. I wish I could have spent more time there, my time was cut short because of health but I felt comfortable talking through it with them so I could make the best choices for me. So much love for that place and community there is definitely no lack! Thank u!

I spent 6 weeks at the hostel and i am very grateful for that. I met amazing people, lived with the best volunteers and had a chance to explore sicily a lot during my stay. The work itself can be quite a lot, especially because theres no other permanent staff besides Reza and Salvo, however i was told the working schedule beforehand and everything was the same as Reza told me on the scheduled phonecall before my arrival. Overall I had a great experience 👍🏻

The hostel is beautiful and spacious, with few beds, making it calm. The location is great, just a five-minute walk to the center, and Catania is an nice base for exploring Sicily. The host was very accommodating and flexible with days off. The work is manageable, mostly morning cleaning and some afternoon and ninght shifts. With no permanent staff, the workload can sometimes feel heavy. However, I felt comfortable and met amazing people during my stay.
