Salvo and Reza are very kind and genuine people. The work is clearly outlined with a checklist and the tasks can be time consuming but are easy to complete.

It's important to note that Salvo wasn't present during my stay. My experience varies from others' and I opted to shorten my stay by 10 days. On the positive side, the location is great for exploring Sicily and Catania, being just a short distance from the city centre. Days off were always flexible. However, I encountered some challenges during my time there. For example, I felt uneasy due to apparent favoritism towards certain volunteers. There were instances when the manager would stop communication with them in my presence. The job is quite demanding and does not feel as volunteering.

The hostel is an amazing place! I have never met anyone that can bring so much positive energy like Salvo. He has the biggest heart and cares deeply for your personal experience. Reza is also a hardworking, loving person that can help with anything that is needed, he's honest and always looks out for you. I had a wonderful time here, got to meet lovely people, enjoy the beauty of Sicily, emerge in local culture and had so much fun cooking meals together. The hours of work are well respected and work itself was definitely manageable. I'm forever grateful, thank you! ❤️

Volunteering at the hostel was an amazing experience! I got to meet so many amazing people, including the hosts, Salvo and Reza. The work was simple and hours were respected. The common area and kitchen were pretty social and it was easy to meet other travelers. It was also in a good spot so it was easy to travel around Catania and other cities in Sicily. I'd recommend to anyone!

I spent a wonderful month in the hostel with Salvo, Reza and all of the other volunteers. Catania is a great city with a really vibrant energy once you get to know it. the hostel is a great hostel and a great place to live and work. Salvo and Reza are such great guys who really cannot do enough for guests and volunteers. We spent some great times together and I'm forever grateful! The work is well organised and fair and the generosity of the hosts is more than a great repayment. I also met some really interesting people from all around the world and had a chance to travel around Sicily :)

The hostel was an amazing first experience. I met so many great people and the hosts were more than helpful. Salvo and Reza are super welcoming and helpful when it comes to the area. The tasks aren't too hard. Reception and housekeeping and then lots of time to go and explore the city. I would totally recommend this experience to other travelers. <3

Such a great experience, lovely team and the work was fine and the set hours were respected. The hosts were always there to help if needed, either in person or reachable by phone and they made sure we were looked after.

I had a great time at UrbanPop! I couldn't think about better hosts than Reza and Salvo, they were welcoming from the first second and made my stay so much better. Also all the volunteers I've worked with were really nice and we had a great atmosphere as a team. The work itself is fine, the hours of work are respected and it's not too much to do during your shift. Catania itself offers a lot of nice bars and restaurants and the surrounding cities are beautiful. If you think about volunteering at UrbanPop, i totally recommend to do it :)

I had the best time at the hostel. The place is located very nice in Catania and it is walking distance to everything that is worth to see. Reza and Salvo is very very good hosts and they are one of the biggest reasons to visit. Catania as a city is beautiful but maybe not that fun. Still tho is Reza and Salvo at their own a reason to come visit. Tasks: very easy, you will have a lot of time to explore both Catania and the rest of Sicily. Be open minded and talk to guests. Fantasic experience all and all.

I loved my time at UrbanPop! Reza and Salvo are easy to get to know and talk to. The other volunteers were also all nice and from lots of different places. The work was easy, and Catania now has a special place in my heart!
