I had a wonderful time at the hostel and I'm gonna miss the hostel and especially the other volunteers! It is in a great spot and is very easy to travel around Sicily. The hostel work was agreed upon beforehand, it is hot work but after a week becomes more manageable and easier. If your ready to work and enjoy Sicilian summer I recommend !!

My stay at the hostel was rewarding and challenging. The work was well explained and demanding, but I managed it with the team's support. I handled cleaning, reception, and laundry, each offering valuable learning. Breakfast was good but basic. The host treated me with respect, patience, and flexibility, even allowing me to stay extra days. Although I didn't join the tours and hikes, they occurred regularly. Overall, a great experience for those ready to work hard in a multicultural environment.

It was great to come back here :) the shifts are organised and clear on the schedule every week, and the work is simple, mostly cleaning and reception. the hostel is really cute too, and right beside the centre of catania. thank you salvo and reza for having me :)

UrbanPop has become a little home away from home. Big thanks to Salvo and Reza as they were always so kind and caring( and omg so funny). The hostel has a great location in the city, enough free days or flexible shifts to be able to explore Catania or the island itself. Not super social, but can be at times, so both a good place to relax and meet people if you're up for it. The work is demanding but nothing one cant do after a days training. Overall an incredible experience, cant wait to return some day! xx

This was my first worldpacker experience and I had such an amazing time! The working hours were respected and you get plenty of time off to explore Catania and visit nearby towns! You are expected to work and clean to a high level, which was expected, and all the tasks were explained well in detail! Reza is very hardworking and Salvo is one of the kindest people I've met which helped to make the hostel feel like a home away from home! There are also loads of great and cheap restaurants and bars really close which was great. I miss the hostel and all the wonderful people I met there already!

My experience in UrbanPop Hostel was amazing! I spent more than 2 months here and I loved every moment of it. The place is very clean, it's a big hostel and full of travelers. But at the same time, you can have privacy and silence, which for me was wonderful. I met amazing people and have good memories of all the time I spent here. Reza and Salvo are wonderful hosts and I would definitely come back here. The work is well explained and easy. I will miss you guys and of course the cakes hahaha! Thanks for everything!

I had a very positive experience at the hostel. This was my first time volunteering on worldpackers and I wouldn't have wanted it to be anywhere else. Expectations about the job were set clearly, as you recieve a check list to work with, and the hours were respected. I had lots of fun working at the hostel and exploring the island on my days off. Salvo and Reza have been wonderful hosts and made me feel welcome at all times. Over all I had a awesome time at the hostel and definitely want to come back!

I had the best time volunteering for the hostel, the expectations were set out clearly and the hours were respected, and there was nothing incredibly challenging. It's in a really central location too, and the days off allow for you to explore heaps of Sicily. Salvo and Reza were the best hosts and so kind to me during my stay, I was truly sad to leave, but I will definitely be back! I really couldn't recommend it enough ❤️

My stay at the hostel was a very valuable experience. I had the chance to meet people from all over the world, explore the whole of Sicily and experience the local culture. The hostel itself is located very close to the city center. If you're lucky, Salvo will take you to Mount Etna, which was one of my favorite experiences during the entire stay. Don't pack too many clothes; half of my backpack was clothes bought at the flea market for 1€. Salvo (the owner) is the sweetest person in the world; throughout my stay, I felt taken care of and safe. Thank you, Salvo and Reza for a great time!

This was my first time traveling by myself, and I'm so grateful to have had this experience. Both the volunteers and Reza and Salvo were always there to help and made me feel at home. I had a lot of fun working and living in the hostel and learned a lot about different cultures. Catania is also a perfect place to explore the island on your free days. Most shifts are very relaxed and the communication was always very good. Thankyou for everything. 🩷
