Had a great time at the hostel. The work is simple but the volume is more than what is often expected at hostels. That being said, everything is laid out in detail and agreed upon beforehand so there are no surprises. Reza and Salvo were friendly and very fair in their feedback. Overall I had a great time in Catania and definitely recommend the experience.

I had a wonderful time in the hostel ! The work is very manageable and the hours always respected. Both Salvo and Reza are so welcoming and patient and also just fun to be around !! I also had a lot of fun with the other volunteers and by exploring Catania and the rest of the island on my free time. I would recommend this hostel with my eyes closed 🫶

From the first moments here I felt very welcome and just after a couple days Urbanpop was like a home to me. During my time here I had a priviledge to meet AMAZING people and form geniuine friendships. First couple weeks I worked at Salvos beutiful garden grooming orange trees & taking care of the animals, and after that I worked at the hostel. The work was fair (standards shall be respected) and orientation to the tasks was clear and individual. Reza and Salvo are patient and open minded so UrbanPop is a safe space to everyone. I'm really going to miss this place <3

I'm leaving this place with so much love and gratitude in my heart. The hostel is so cozy and the working hours were exactly as agreed upon beforehand: the shifts are fun and you can learn a lot. But the people made my time here absolutely unforgettable: life in the hostel with the other volunteers was so much fun, they started feeling like a little family. Salvo & Reza are the best hosts you could ever have. They're so patient, funny, and helpful. It is a safe place for everyone ;). Leaving this place was so hard, I'll miss it a lot and definitely have to come back! Thank you guys so much!

I stayed at the hostel for a month. In the beginning I just wanted to escape the German winter and spend some time in the sun, but soon after arriving I met so many lovely people and felt so welcomed! Leaving that place was really hard and I was able to form strong bonds with fellow volunteers in such a short time. It was one of the best month of my life!! The workload is more than manageable and both Reza and Salvo are so much fun. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend some quality time in Sicily! Ciao đź‘‹

My experience during my volunteer was amazing. Salvo and Reza are responsable and worried if you are feeling good during your volunteer. The place to sleep is good, the room has a nice size and you can share the space with the another volunteers without problems. For sure I recomend this experience and when I come back to catania I'll stay again in the hostel.

That was my second time volunteering here and once more it was absolutely amazing! The work is easy, the schedule is respected and very flexible. The Hostel is very organized, clean and big, making it a perfect place to have awesome experiences and meet incredible people. You will feel like home here. The location is so good, just minutes from the main places and you can take a bus to go to any other city you want to visit for a day. Also there's a perfect view of Etna on one of the balconies of the Hostel! Highly recommend. Thanks Reza and Salvo! Miss you guys already <3

I was at Urbanpop for 1 month and it was amazing. I met many people and travelers and had an amazing time here. The hostel is close to the center and within walking distance you can get everything you need. The working hours are respected and work is chill, the cleaning shifts can be alot but managable. Salvo and Reza are so funny and I was always comfortable asking for help if I needed it. Communication is good. What truely made my stay here was the volunteers and staff who are like a family. I wish the best to the hostel, I will miss this place alot but will surely come again :)

The experience was ok. Reza and Salvo are very patient when teaching. The hostel is quiet. The amount of work is a lot compared to what you get in return. They send the info beforehand and you accept it, but reading it is not the same as doing it. They don't have staff, ¨we are¨ Breakfast isn't enough for the work required. It was okay thanks to the amazing other volunteers.

I would advise everyone to take the provided list of daily tasks and working hours seriously and really ask themselves if they are willing to work that much & get relatively little in return. There will be days where you are working from morning until 7pm, with just one little break to cook yourself lunch. If you like staying busy and have some time to kill, this hostel is a good option to experience the Sicilian life. It has a nice vibe, I almost immediately felt very comfortable. And Catania actually grows on you. For me it's a good memory, but I don't think everyone will enjoy it.
