The guest house was amazing! was my first volunteering, Charlotte was awesome, She is very aware of the respect towards the volunteers, the food was always fantastic, she cooks and is fabulous, She in the days off took a stroll us, it was very funny, the work not is difficult only you need to have orden, She corrected my words or ways of saying things, thanks to that I have improved, I recommend this place if you are willing to change your way of thinking a little and adapt to this place, she has adorable pets, it is important that you like them as you deal with them, I highly recomme

Staying with Charlotte for a month, I learned a lot about cleaning, life in Scotland, history of Scotland, and also got to know Charlotte. She was very nice to us, and provided us with 3 meals a day, a place to stay, and took us places most days off in her car. As long as you don't mind cleaning, and like a small town or nature sort of setting I would highly recommend applying here. Charlotte also offered us a lot of helpful insight for the next bits of our trip which I'm really grateful for.

Our experience at the guest house was very nice. Charlotte (the owner) was very nice with us.He taught us so many things and, in his spare time, accompanied us to discover Scotland. But not only that, in fact she also helped us improve our English, because she was always available to talk to us.The food was quite good, she tried to let us discover Scottish cuisine but she also catered to our tastes.The b & b area is very nice and well-kept, staying there was very relaxing so if you like being immersed in nature it is for you.Thank you Charlotte for giving us this chance we'll never forget it.

I know your hearts are both set on getting back into the airlines and I am sure you will get back on board.
Your understanding of English is superb and you now just need to get your confidence in speaking English and that will come keep practicing on Andrea

I spent a month at the guest house and it was a very unique and engaging experience. Charlotte is an excellent cook and the food was always so lovely. I was there during the off season so there was a lot of downtime to go hiking and walking around the village. The work was pretty simple, just some upkeep inside and outside (raking leaves, painting, etc). Charlotte is specific about how tasks are completed but as you are a good listener and a hard worker you'll be okay. Message me if you have any questions, I love talking about my experiences!

It was my fist volunteering experience and it's was great. Drumnadrochit is a magical place with many forests and hills surrounding it, perfect if you love nature and quietness. Charlotte is very experienced in dealing with volunteers and has set up a great routine. The tasks were quite easy, but ask questions, because everything has a specific way of being done. Charlotte can be a bit strict at first, but at the end of the experience she grows on you. She's been really helpful, kind and thoughtful during very difficult moments I had after leaving the guest house's, so I cannot be thankful enough.

She is a cruel, unreasonable person, and how she treats you will entirely depend on whether she likes you or not and whether you have the strength to resist here. To evade accountability, she will constantly interrogate you, make personal attacks, and frequently tell lies. Particularly if your English is poor, you would not want to explain to her at all. On the last day when I was leaving, she even deliberately took me to a nearby bus stand, and told me to wait at the wrong direction. If I would have believed her then I would have missed the only bus to that faraway train station.

In response to the above which is not a true account of SiYi's stay that I am finding it hard to answer.

SiYi booked a 15 day stay here and from the moment she arrived I spent lots of time helping her to build up her confidence, providing training in housekeeping and trying to help her find suitable employment on her return to USA as she had no wish to go back to NY due to personal reasons and also her dislike for NY. We checked the internet together for job openings in other states which provided live in accommodation. We found a couple of possibilities which she was keen to explore. As she didn't feel confident enough to contact them herself I was prepared to do this on her behalf.

Her English speaking was not poor she just lacked self confidence, speaking so quietly and always looking down at her feet that myself, guests and friends could not hear her and were always asking her to repeat what she said. I had no issues with SiYi's work and she was a quick learner, another reason I was happy to help her move forward.

The drop off at the bus stop was at the opposite side of the road to where her bus was leaving from and I messaged this to her and even told her the colour of the bus stop and that she was on the wrong side of the road. I received a reply from her saying "Google says I am on the right side of the road!" I have the Whatsapp texts to substantiate this.

Personally I find her comments defamatory allegations, made perhaps by failing to understand the correct meaning of these words or by poor interpretations and poor translation services of words in context.

I suggest any future hosts carefully consider whether they should offer a place to SiYi and I am happy to be contacted for a reference if required.

Hey travelers! Me and Cristian had a wonderful experience there. Remember nothing comes free you always have to respect other people habits and standards. Whatever Charlotte says you do and eventually you will find yourself with plenty of time for yourself and she'll be generous . Choose this program only if you don't bother putting yourself to the test. Remember your goal and commit but do it conscientiously. Safe travel everyone! Cheers

My experience in the guest house was awesome, I can say that I learnt a lot. Even I had lo leave sooner than I thought I took the best memories and tips that Charlotte gave me. Food was amazing and accommodation was impecable and super comfy. Thank you Lady Charlotte (and the two volunteers I met ) for let me have this great time with you :) Already back in Europe, hope I can go back to Scotland soon!

My experience at the guest house has been absolutely amazing. Charlotte told us in advance what our tasks will be and when we arrived she took the time to show us everything in detail. The work was not too hard and I loved to walk the dogs after we were done with our tasks. Food (especially Charlotte's selfmade Burgers) was delicious and always the perfect amount. Also, when there wasn't too much work to do, Charlotte took us to the most amazing places and showed us around Scotland. I really appreciate her straightforward but warm-hearted and sincere manner and the great talks we had.

It was a pleasure hosting Franzi and during the 2 months she spent here she was willing to help out wherever and whenever she was needed. She has a great attitude and also a great sense of humour. She loved our dogs, cat and sheep and I cannot recommend her high enough. It was a sad day when Franzi left to return home - I and our dogs miss her and Lisa very much especially Sophie our demented, crazy beautiful little dog - still missing you both. I have no hesitation in recommending Franzi to any host and indeed would welcome her back anytime in the future. Thank you both. Charlotte
