Enjoy Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands and surrounding area

The work was exactly as described and very doable. As it was low sesson there was a lot of free time which I used to discover the surrounding area. When Charlotte went to Inverness we accompanied her and I was able to explore the city. I was very lucky to have my own room. Although Charlotte is not keen on vegans I very much appreciated her buying and preparing vegan food for me. I thanked her on many occasions for her kindness. I got on well with the other volunteers. I found Charlotte however to be generally short tempered and irritable. I just got on with my work in the end as advised.

I had a very nice time volunteering at charlottes. She liked me very much from the start when I arrived. However I felt that it wasn't always like that for some of the other volunteers when they arrived as well the energy was different so I feel as my experience with that might be biased. Other than that. The hours are super nice and tasks aren't too hard. Charlotte likes things done a certain way so just do your best to understand how she wants things done/put away. The area is very nice for hiking and nature if you like that I enjoyed it very much. Overall was fun so thanks, Charlotte.

I would definitely not recommend this place. Charlotte is not a good host. She has a extremely particular way of doing every thing and if you deviate a little from it, you will be yelled at and mistreated. She will also not always explain how she wants things done and still expect you to do them properly. She is unfair and treats some volunteers differently than others. You experience will be like playing russian roulette. If she likes you, it will be good. If she doesn't, you will have a bad time I will say that the work schedule and all meals were respected. Food is usually good.

Charlotte's a gracious host in what's provided, she even took us on a day trip north, & helped us attend church regularly which we appreciated! The work can be particular but that's the case with any business. We would've liked consistent mealtimes, they can vary by hours. Wish we could say all was great, but Charlotte is kind until she's not. We were open to correction & apologetic if something was wrong but were never given chances to explain misunderstandings & were recipients of some mood swings/comments that were occasionally demeaning. Feel free to message either of us with questions.

Thank you, thank you, thank you times a thousand!!! I had the most incredible month with Charlotte and the other volunteers in Loch Ness…Being the “off season”, there wasn't a whole lot of work to do but it's still important to put a hand up and help out when required - Charlotte really appreciates that…With work days being less, Charlotte was able to take us on some incredible day trips in the highlands, I already miss the gorgeous snowy scenery right outside my bedroom, warm home cooked meals, movie nights, christmas decorating and local hikes. I look forward to coming back at some stage!!

Hi Maddie thanks for your kind words and I am pleased you enjoyed your time here with me and the other volunteers and I do hope you will keep in touch with me and ofcourse them (think you have made some long term friends with James, Zali and Isabella).
You will have arrived on the Island of Coll by now and I am sure you are settling in and maybe enjoying some fabulous honey. Hope all goes well (no reason not to) and that you have a great time. Looking forward to meeting up and getting all your news.
Take care. Charlotte

So grateful for my time in the guest house. The tasks are pretty straight forward once you learn them. The meals are really good and the location is amazing, with lots of trails and hikes to do around Loch Ness. The village of Drumnadrochit is very quiet and peaceful. I made long lasting friends during my 3 months stay here. Special thanks to Charlotte for being so patient, welcoming and generous to us.

Staying at the guest house has been amazing!! The work is very easy once you get used to the way things are done. Charlotte is a great host and as long as you're doing what is asked of you, you will get along swimmingly. The area is absolutely lovely just make sure to explore around and see all the sights. Very good star gazing as well if you're lucky enough to get a clear sky.

My stay at the guest house was so special and wonderful. Charlotte really cares about her volunteers and looks after us well. We had home cooked meals every night and nice rooms to stay in. Work hours were respected, and there are a lot of details to the work but it's easy once you get the hang of it. Charlotte also took us on day trips around the Highlands, and taught us a lot about the history of Scotland. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to explore the Highlands and get back in touch with nature! I will always remember my experience there, and will miss you all!!

This was an amazing first Worldpackers experience! Charlotte is a great host who is very reasonable, fair, and generous. The food and accommodation was lovely, and she treated the volunteers whenever we'd go out for a day trip which was very kind. When she is showing you how to do something, she is very direct and assertive. This can seem intimidating, but don't take it personally! She is just trying to make it easier for everyone and be as effective as she can. Overall, I feel very lucky to have stayed at the guest house with Charlotte, and her cat and dog! I hope to keep in touch❤️
