This experience was absolutely amazing! I admit that the first week was a bit intense, But once I got used to it, the work was easy and enjoyable. The hours were amazing and you'll have lots of free time! The food Charlotte made was very tasty! Her animals are absolutely adorable and so friendly except grumpy old Archie:) Charlotte took me to some amazing places and tell me the history about it. It was all very interesting! Charlotte, while very direct, is a very kind person who knows her trade well. If you volunteer here, be prepared for interesting discussions. Feel free to ask any question!

This was my first time volunteering and I am glad I spent it at the guest house. Charlotte was really kind and honest with me and my friend, the hours were fair and once you get the hang of it the work is enjoyable. The whole environment is around the house is lovely and I really liked her dogs. 10/10 experience for me and would definitely go there again if I ever have the chance.

HiBernardo, My first time too having all guys (was a bit hesitantant only for a moment though) and so glad you both spent time here as it was a real pleasure getting to know you and Pete. You were both really helpful and very willing and I appreciated that very much. There will always be a place here for you - you only need to get in touch and you will be very welcome to come back (even just for a visit). We (me and the pets ) are all missing you. Now waiting for Alexandra to arrive on Wednesday so looking forward to that as well. Take care and hope all is going well with you and look forward to hearing from you from time to time. Charlotte

I had an amazing time over at the guest house!! Charlotte is a brilliant host, fun to work with and fun to be around. The work is very rewarding; don't expect you'll slack about! I learned a lot of skills I didn't have previously that I'm sure I'll use both in my personal life and in other Worldpackers experiences. The location is great, perfect if you enjoy the countryside, the company of wildlife (and Charlotte's great pets) and want to get immersed in Scottish culture. If you're looking to have a great time in the Scottish Highlands, I can't recommend this place more!!

Hi you thanks for that. Really enjoyed you both being here (a few hairy moments at the beginning thanks to a certain person but least said the better). I am serious about future visits so if you and your mum want to come over at some point when she visits let me know. Keep in touch and keep that house tidy!!! Good luck getting the house together and getting back to uni. Charlotte

Charlotte is a kind person who tries to make you feel comfortable, she even lent us jackets for the cold. As it was not a tourist season, there wasn't much work to do, other than taking the dogs for a walk 3 times a day, feeding Archi (a very cute sheep) and house and garden chores. The town is beautiful, although we didn't get to know much, we loved what we saw. The negative point is that Charlotte can be very rude when telling you how to da task and she will get upset if you try to tell her that she made a mistake, no matter what, it will be always your fault.

The negative point really is that your choosing to ignore/resent instructions given to you results in your inability to carry them out as directed, ending up in your words not being a 'good fit'.
I would also assure you that at no point during your very brief stay did I make any kind of 'mistakes' or get 'upset' when conveying instructions to you or Gustavo as to how I expected tasks to be completed and nor were you ever accused of anything being 'your fault' I give very direct, precise instructions to ensure they are clearly understood especially in case of Gustavo who's English appears to be very poor.
The tasks you were appointed were menial and not open to question/debate (raking up dead/fallen leaves from the lawn)and if you find it difficult to carry these out then perhaps this is not the way forward for you

This was my first time volunteering with Worldpackers and it was a good experience at the guest house. The hours of work were fair and in our days off Charlotte and Dick took us to some amazing places in the highlands and we walked a lot during these days. Charlotte was kind and generous and taught us a lot about Scottish culture and her life experiences. We also would to mention these less positive situations: - lunch times were very late and a couple of times we haven't had lunch at all; - sometimes we felt that Charlotte was a bit arrogant and rude with us for insignificant reasons.

Contrary to the lovely comments you wrote in our helpers book on the morning of your departure where no mention whatsover was made of your irritations to those you have now left on the Worldpackers website it would seem I had 2 Susanas and 2 Gaspars staying here as the two comments are far removed from each other.
I also could have elaborated more on my less positive impressions of you such as your your somewhat abrasive manner which I chose to put down to (cultural differences), time keeping, continuously speaking in Portuguese in my presence which I found to be very rude after advising that we expect English to be spoken, disappointment to find that on your departure (even though you had plenty of time) you did not leave the room and bathroom you occupied as you received it and thereby unfairly leaving the cleanup to our next volunteers.
However, although sometimes I also find failings with our volunteers I try to view these in a realistic manner and will address any issues and resolve them at source then move on without further dwelling on them till a later time.
I try to ensure our volunteers have a good positive experience while they are here and show my appreciation by providing excursions to other areas, takeaway dinners, beers/wine occassionaly, whisky tastings, Restaurant dinners etc. all at my expense and time.
I am happy that most of the time the experience taken away from here is a positive happy one which I am pleased to say is endorsed by the fact that most of my volunteers keep in touch.
I hope any future experiences live up to your expectations and perhaps you should ask questions about lunch times and ensure that you get all meals (like you did here) included even on your days off

If you object to these kind of requests you should not put yourself in the position in the first place.
