My experience in the guest house was truly wonderful. From day one, I felt welcomed and surrounded by peace and nature. I discovered a beautiful, charming village and had the chance to enjoy, learn, and grow throughout my stay. Charlotte made everything even more special. She was kind, supportive, and always attentive—offering fun plans, lovely outings, and constant help with anything I needed. Her warmth made me feel completely at home. I leave with great memories, valuable lessons, and deep gratitude. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something meaningful and authentic.

My experience at the guest house was wonderful. The tasks were very straight forward, Charlotte was very communicative and the other volunteers were absolutely lovely. Drumnadrochit is a great place to connect with nature and accessible to Inverness.

I had an incredible stay at the guest house. The surroundings are beautiful, for me getting to know the Highlands was a dream come true, there are still so many places I want to explore, so I hope to come back soon. Charlotte is a great host, sharp as a tack and a fantastic cook too. I learn a lot from her and Dick about Whiskey, Scotland, and life. the work is exactly as described in her profile, so what to expect? I recommend always reading carefully. If you think it suits you and what you're looking for, you'll have a wonderful stay. Thank you again Charlotte <3 hope to see you soon

Charlotte, Dick, Sophie and Rags were like a family away from home Drumnadrochit is a beautiful village in the heart of the highlands, after a month (with a car) I still had so many places I wanted to explore Work hours were respected, the tasks were easy and the 3 meals were delicious and the accomodations is amazing ! Charlotte & Dick arranged days out, dinners in town, whiskey tastings and incredible local knowledge and often surprised us with treats, we felt cared for and happy throughout our stay Any questions, feel free to ask :) Thanks again Charlotte !

The place is incredible, the accomodations are amazing, there are a lot of local hikes that you can go, Sophie and Rags are very good pets and you'll have a great time with them. Charlotte is very good, she likes things done her way because she has been in the business many years. She loves talking about Scotland, she is very proud to be from the UK and she loves talking about music. I would recommend the experience, it takes patience to learn how to do the things you need to, but they are very simple tasks. I went on the off-season so there was not much work to do, but enjoyed the experience.

My experience at the guest house was truly amazing. The nature and surrounding areas are incredible. Charlotte is a great host and I've learnt a lot from her! She runs a bread and breakfast. The work can be hard at first, but once you learn how to complete the tasks you're good to go! :) I was there on off season so I got to hang out with Sophie more and take her on walks. Charlotte took me on trips on days off to see some beautiful places in Inverness. Thank you for everything! I will make sure to stay here again at one point this year :) will miss you, Sophie and Rags!!

I truly can not overstate how great the stay at the guest house is. Initially I was only supposed to stay for a month and a half but ended up staying for 4 months. This does not mean that there weren't hiccups along the way, getting used to the way things are expected to get done takes a while, and the weather can be pretty despairing for long periods of time. I just mean that the good greatly outweighed any sort of discomfort that came up during my time here. Charlotte is a fantastic host that cares for her volunteers. I already miss the experience and hope to go back one day!

Charlotte's a gracious host in what's provided, she even took us on a day trip north, & helped us attend church regularly which we appreciated! The work can be particular but that's the case with any business. We would've liked consistent mealtimes, they can vary by hours. Wish we could say all was great, but Charlotte is kind until she's not. We were open to correction & apologetic if something was wrong but were never given chances to explain misunderstandings & were recipients of some mood swings/comments that were occasionally demeaning. Feel free to message either of us with questions.

Thank you, thank you, thank you times a thousand!!! I had the most incredible month with Charlotte and the other volunteers in Loch Ness…Being the “off season”, there wasn't a whole lot of work to do but it's still important to put a hand up and help out when required - Charlotte really appreciates that…With work days being less, Charlotte was able to take us on some incredible day trips in the highlands, I already miss the gorgeous snowy scenery right outside my bedroom, warm home cooked meals, movie nights, christmas decorating and local hikes. I look forward to coming back at some stage!!

Hi Maddie thanks for your kind words and I am pleased you enjoyed your time here with me and the other volunteers and I do hope you will keep in touch with me and ofcourse them (think you have made some long term friends with James, Zali and Isabella).
You will have arrived on the Island of Coll by now and I am sure you are settling in and maybe enjoying some fabulous honey. Hope all goes well (no reason not to) and that you have a great time. Looking forward to meeting up and getting all your news.
Take care. Charlotte

So grateful for my time in the guest house. The tasks are pretty straight forward once you learn them. The meals are really good and the location is amazing, with lots of trails and hikes to do around Loch Ness. The village of Drumnadrochit is very quiet and peaceful. I made long lasting friends during my 3 months stay here. Special thanks to Charlotte for being so patient, welcoming and generous to us.
