- House is dirty and Helen doesn't live there - Loud at night because of dogs - Lot of responsibility, you have to take care of many dogs - Food topic is difficult - Place is remote, one little shop - No ATM - be aware that you have to be careful and attentive with the dogs For me it was worth it going there because I did something good and learned a lot! It's a chance to get out of your comfort zone and it's rewarding work. In the first days it will be a lot but you will get used to it. I would definitely do this again! The dogs are very sweet and I met amazing people there.

I think volunteering in the shelter has been one of the best decisions I made during my trip. The dogs are really lovely and easy for you to fall in love with them. The daily chores are the same everyday (feed, clean and walk the dogs) in the morning and afternoon and take almost the 5 hours. But definitely all extra work is going to be helpful and appreciated, like some repairs and things to make the place even better for the dogs. Helen was a great host and nice all the time of my stay. If you really love dogs it is a great place to volunteer. For me it was ♥️

My experience in this volunteering was amazing. You work with a two-shift routine a day and the hours are always respected. The work is not difficult, you just need to do it with affection and patience. Helen is an amazing host, always looked after our needs and had a good relationship with us. I highly recommend this volunteer for those who really care about dogs, they deserve all love that anyone could give them.

This was my first ever experience with worldpackers and it was totally worth it! Helen is such a good host and person overall and all the dogs were well behaved. Tasks weren't hard at all and we had pretty much free time as well. But you need to keep your thing out of reach, otherwise housedogs will destroy them :,) Probably the most hardest thing was leaving, because you're going to miss all those dogs.

Helen is an easy to talk person and a great and fair host. Being surrounded by dogs was a great experience for me, but be aware that these are rescued dogs, most of them had been through a lot, so you must proceed carefully, fully aware of the instructions you're given and with a lot of respect for these fluffy friends. Nevertheless you will received as much love as you give them :). Thank you Helen for let me participate in such enriching experience.

This was a very nice experience. The dogs at the shelter are happy and well taken care of. The hours are fair and as agreed upon, and the work was not very demanding. I had a good time with all the sweet doggies. Helen is easy to talk to for anything, and the house I stayed in was clean and comfy, with a full fridge. All in all I can really recommend this place !

I really enjoyed my experience volunteering in Helens shelter, all the dogs were very lovely and friendly, I loved spending time with them while walking and caring for them. The tasks were pretty easy and understandable, the same routine repeats every day so it was always clear what to do. Thank you Helen for welcoming me and giving opportunity to gain new knowledge about dogs! I definitely recommend this experience for all animal and nature lovers😁

I would like to thank Helen very much. I really enjoyed this experience, it was very productive and I think I matured a lot. The dogs are very lovable, I am taking each one of them in my heart. I miss them so much, maybe at that moment I just wanted to go back in time and pet them, talk and take them for a walk. If you like animals, please stay at this sanctuary for at least a month, it will be very good for you and the animals. I really loved everything and was able to learn English with Helen and the other volunteers. I would like to thank the volunteer Floor and Jet, they helped me a lot ❣️

This was my first worldpackers experience and i really enjoyed helping to look after all the different dogs. The dogs are really sweet (especially the puppies) and the routine is the same everyday, which makes it easy to get used to. I was provided with a private room and was picked up and dropped off at the train station which was very helpful. Some dogs may bite and the village is extremely remote, with very few shops nearby but overall I would highly recommend to anyone who loves dogs.

Calling all dog lovers! If you love dogs and hate seeing them mistreated this is the best place where you're hands on and helping in a very small remote village. I had a really good time at the shelter she really loves the dogs and looked after us all asking what we needed her to buy on the weekly shop and we had a private room each! I would stress it's early mornings , (lotta poo duty!) and you will be tired in the days… but it's really worth it if the reason you're there is for the doggos!
