I had a great time at Aki Cafe, Ryoko San was so welcoming and kind always! And Fumi San (the owner) was also so kind and gifted us many treats, during my time I spent time with the other volunteers, we went out and explored things together, the work is max 5 hrs a day but sometimes can finish earlier , I thought the cleaning and time off was fair and I would recommend this place to anyone, there is everything near such a great place 😊

I had the most amazing experience at the guest house, I even asked to extend as I really enjoyed my time. Ryoko san and Fumi san were so helpful and friendly. I had limited Japanese speaking skills however Ryoko san was so patient in teaching. She made me feel like family and taught me so much about the Japanese culture and food! The other volunteers were social and we did fun things like go to a baseball game and watched a Kagura performance. There is high cleaning standards for the hostel but Ryoko san will teach you don't worry. Overall it was a fantastic experience I would come back

I spent 2 incredible weeks in the guest house! The hostel is very social and i had a lot of fun with my fellow volunteers and other guests! The work is light and usually takes around 3h. The location is great, just in front of the Hiroshima station. Special thanks to Ryoko-san for being so kind and patient! I will definitely come back one day!! Thanks for everything 🙌🏻

Everybody was super welcoming and nice. While working the time flies and everybody is very helpful most of the time you even finish earlier. I met a lot of nice people and other volunteers so I had an incredible nice time there. :) I definitely recommend it.

I had a great time at the guest house! The owner and the main cleaning staff are super kind. They are also very flexible to accommodate to my holiday planning, so I could do some trips a bit more far away as well. The work is usually about 3 hours, demanding, but everyone takes pride to provide an incredibly clean environment and finish earlier still. In one week, I was the only helper unfortunately, but the staff took care that I didn't work a minute longer.. 😌 Again, I'd like to thank everyone so much who made my stay so memorable! I'll miss you over there and will surely return in the future!! 💛

Great experience at aki café. Met wonderful people and the hostel is very lovely. It's even better if you can work at the reception and the cleaning at the same time, it allows you to work only two days a week. They are really flexible about the schedule it's very nice. The hostel is a great place to live in, you can feel like home. Free rice and you have all you need to cook. You can be able to meet a lot of other travellers (mostly foreigners). Thanks to ryoko San who is very sweet.

I highly recommend. The people running the hostel are nice and fair. The work is balanced and sometimes done quicker than the 4 hours (normally we did it in 3). The hostel location is not exactly center but Hiroshima is a very walkable city, even if you don't like walking it is right next to the main station of Hiroshima and a station of street cars. The staff is the best part, having someone to share the experience makes Hiroshima part of your life. We went to Karaoke, bars, bouldering, sightseeing,... The sleep pods really feel like your personal space. I would recommend 1 month maximum.

I was nervous working for the first time in Japan, but all the staff made me feel very comfortable even when I struggled. Cleaning can be tough at first, but after a couple weeks It isn't bad at all. I had a lot of fun and it's easily one of the best things I've ever done. Highly recommended.

We worked together in Aki Café for 2 weeks as a couple. Our tasks have been easy to manage and we didn't had to work more than 3 hours a day. We have met many other volunteers from all over the world and spent our free time with them. After being in many different hostels in different countries we can say that aki café was the most comfortable and most clean one. So not even cleaning the toilets was a big deal for us! Arrigato Gozaimasu to Fumisan for having us and a big thank you to Ryokosan! <3
