The Experience

Come and join our team! In our guesthouse, we need helpers to do the cleaning tasks 5 days/week or receptionists 2 days/week depending on whether they can speak Japanese or not. It was my first time volunteering in Japan, and I had a great time there! I worked as a cleaner and receptionist, so I need to remember some things, but always all of the volunteers or staff help me! Ryoko san and Fumi san are very kind, so you don't need to worry anything;) Especially Ryoko san, she's like a mum, she always takes care of us! お世話になりました🥰❤️

Ryoko and everyone else working at the hostel are all so kind, respectful and patient while teaching you what they need you to do. The place itself is really clean and cozy and a great place to stay. It's really close to the train station and it's easy to get anywhere in the city from there as well. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would definitely try to come back!

My stay at the guest house was short but really good! All of the volunteers and staff members were amazing and super nice, especially Ryoko-san was always caring and helping when needed. The hours and type of job is as described, can be a bit of work of there are lots of guests or fewer volunteers but it's completely doable. Even if you are on the second hostel they own (36 hostel). If you get a bike from the hostel there you'll take 15 min so not that far away. The location is really good, near the central station and the Mazda Stadium. And Hiroshima is a beautiful place with welcoming people. 🫶

I had a great time at the guest house. The accommodations are clean and well maintained. The work is quite simple and doesn't take up much time during the day, which allowed me to explore Hiroshima in my free time. A little bonus for Ryoko-san, who is very patient, a great teacher, and really funny. I highly recommend it!

This was my first international trip all on my own & my first worldpackers trip & it was amazing! Ryoko & Fumi are very welcoming & friendly & this place felt like home away from home. Ryoko will help you if you struggle with the work tasks & make you feel very welcome. You have a place to store food & cook & can use the provided e-bikes to explore Hiroshima. A work schedule is posted every sunday so you can plan things on your days off. Overall I would honestly love to come back here to work again & if you are worried about being a solo traveler you will be fine here! Lots of friends I made!
