This was my second time here at ARA. I cannot reccomend this place enough. This place is so special to me, spending time socialising, walking and training all these animals is so rewarding and more importantly so great for the animals in preparation for adoption. I will continue to come to ARA as often as I can. The staff are really helpful and accommodating, everyone works together as a team and you get to also meet so many other volunteers to share this special experience with. Thankyou everyone at ARA

I felt truly comfortable and welcomed there and everyone was so kind and had such big hearts. The staff were always approachable and supportive, and we all had a wonderful time together. Helping the dogs and giving them love and attention never felt like work to me because I did it with joy. Mia was a wonderful addition to the volunteer team during her two weeks at the shelter.Despite the short time, she made a big difference through her kindness, enthusiasm & hardwork.Mia quickly adapted to the daily routines and showed care for both the dogs and cats.She was attentive to each animal’s needs,gentle with the shy ones, and playful with those full of energy.Her positive attitude& willingness to help with any task—whether cleaning, or spending one-on-one time was highly appreciated

I've been to Ara just two times now, but the whole place has a very special place in my heart. Arriving here you'll feel so welcome and everyone, volunteers and staff are incredibly kind. You can just feel how everyone is here for the wellbeing of the animals and you'll meet the most incredible, likeminded friends here 🫶🏻!! The shelter itself is special as well. The dogs (and cats) are really taken care of while still having the freedom of really being a dog and playing in big groups in the parks throughout the day. Everything about Ara is perfect, thank you for this time!

I really enjoyed my time at ARA! The Team was super nice, open about the tasks from the beginning and always ready to help if you needed them. As a cat person I got to learn a lot about dogs & their behaviors. I already miss them so so much🥹 Would definitely recommend to volunteer at ARA if you love animals & being outside. We had the best experience at ARA. The team and other volunteers are so kind and welcoming which helps finding your way in the job. Everyone takes such good care of the animals, their comfort and wellbeing always comes first. The shifts you work are well arranged so it's a great balance of working and having free time. In your free time you have a lot of possibilities to go outside our spend more time with the dogs. We can't wait to come back to this beautiful place. It truly is a home away from home.
