This was my first worldpackers experience and I loved it! ARA is a unique place. Everything is so well organised and the staff is really kind and treats the animals with love. It was an amazing experience. For my ARA is like a little oasis in Portugal full of nature and similar minded people. The project is very well organised. The work was quite easy and I appreciated that we had enough time to socialize with the dogs and cats. I was only two weeks in ARA and it was so heartwarming to experience how in this short time some dogs got adopted. I definitely plan to come back one day!

ARA is an incredible place! I was already there two years ago and decided to come back, because I liked it so much. It's a great place for people who love to spend a lot of time with dogs. The tasks are mainly cleaning, walking the dogs and socialising with the dogs and cats :) The staff does an amazing job and the shelter is very organised. It's really inspiring to see everyone work together everyday to get the dogs and cats the life they deserve! The four weeks went by so fast and I was really sad to say goodbye to all the amazing dogs and people I met! I'll be back again for sure :)

My stay at ARA was an experience that I would recommend to anyone. The relationship with other volunteers and staff is very pleasant. For me, it's the best the shelter I've ever met. The work they do is really incredible. You really get attached to each the shelter so much so you want to adopt one. I hope to comeback one day.

Our first experience couldn't have been more perfect. It was a dream come true to be part of this project. The staff are wonderful people who do everything they can to provide the best experience for you. The work is not difficult or complicated at all. The only bad part was having to say goodbye because you want to stay there forever. I've had an amazing 2 weeks at ARA! For me it was a fulfilling journey, where I could take my mind of everyday life. The people and animals made it so special. Eu não sei nem por onde começar. Desde o dia em que cheguei fui excelentemente recebida em uma acomodação aconchegante e com bastante espaço. Se você estiver procurando por um lugar para se conectar com a natureza, com os animais e praticar seu inglês o abrigo é o lugar para isso. Todos os Staffs e cuidadores do abrigo são super amigáveis, gentis, divertidos e prestativos. Me senti super à vontade com todas as pessoas e animais. Tenho muito que agradecer pois tive uma primeira experiência maravilhosa e recomendo para todos que tem vontade de vir para cá!
