Great experience at aki café. Met wonderful people and the hostel is very lovely. It's even better if you can work at the reception and the cleaning at the same time, it allows you to work only two days a week. They are really flexible about the schedule it's very nice. The hostel is a great place to live in, you can feel like home. Free rice and you have all you need to cook. You can be able to meet a lot of other travellers (mostly foreigners). Thanks to ryoko San who is very sweet.

I highly recommend. The people running the hostel are nice and fair. The work is balanced and sometimes done quicker than the 4 hours (normally we did it in 3). The hostel location is not exactly center but Hiroshima is a very walkable city, even if you don't like walking it is right next to the main station of Hiroshima and a station of street cars. The staff is the best part, having someone to share the experience makes Hiroshima part of your life. We went to Karaoke, bars, bouldering, sightseeing,... The sleep pods really feel like your personal space. I would recommend 1 month maximum.

I was nervous working for the first time in Japan, but all the staff made me feel very comfortable even when I struggled. Cleaning can be tough at first, but after a couple weeks It isn't bad at all. I had a lot of fun and it's easily one of the best things I've ever done. Highly recommended.

We worked together in Aki Café for 2 weeks as a couple. Our tasks have been easy to manage and we didn't had to work more than 3 hours a day. We have met many other volunteers from all over the world and spent our free time with them. After being in many different hostels in different countries we can say that aki café was the most comfortable and most clean one. So not even cleaning the toilets was a big deal for us! Arrigato Gozaimasu to Fumisan for having us and a big thank you to Ryokosan! <3

The experience was amazing. I had a really great time and met tons of great people. The work itself was self explaining and therefore not really hard. Just the beds are quite small, so your work space is limited, which can be frustrating at times. Still had a terrific time and would recommend.

Thank you so much for the past four weeks. I really enjoyed staying at the guest house. The Team is amazing, I met so many nice people. We usually worked for three hours a day, doing the beds and cleaning. After that you have a lot of time to explore the city. Hiroshima has many nice places to explore. I had an amazing time, I would definitely recommend staying at the guest house.

I had the best two weeks working at 36Hostel (smaller of the two hostels). Cleaning followed the agreed upon schedule and was not too hard to complete. The beds were very comfy and had large lock boxes that could fit a backpack. Working at 36Hostel was so much fun! The staff are amazing and so helpful if I had any questions. During this time I was able to meet many wonderful people, both fellow Worldpackers and hostels guests to explore Hiroshima with. I highly recommend volunteering at 36hostel/the guest house if you plan to go to Japan!

This was my second volunteer experience and work wise definitely a bit more difficult (at the beginning). Overall a really nice experience. I met many volunteers and a few locals who made my trip even better. I had time to explore Hiroshima and visit Miyajima. When there were fewer check-ins, we also had more free time.

I am very happy about choosing the guest house for my first volunteering. It really was a great experience. Everything was accessible by walk and the people there were friendly. Fumi鯖 is a nice person, he has been very supportive and kind to me. I greatly recommend this place to anyone who's interested in Hiroshima.

It was a really fun experience working in Aki Cafe with other travelers. Work can be hard at first, but once you get used to it, it will be faster and easier than you would think! I could practice my Japanese here and learn a lot from the people with whom I work with also from customers! Thank you for your hospitality :)
