I had such a great experience there. I already had experience as a reception but this time I was able to try bartending. It's not normally open but I wanted to try something new and requested it from the boss. He accepted and gave me the opportunity to try it out. Along with daily tasks, I prepared for the opening of the bar and also tried my hand at creating POP and signboard art. It also helped me explore new fields and discover new interests. These new challenges were successful, and I was able to gain more confidence and grow. I'm really grateful to the host for giving me this opportunity.

Great experience! ♥️🙏🏼 It was really chill and cool work there! I really loved the fact we're close to everything and we have bikes if we want to go out. I met a lot of friends at 36hostel and they are awesome! About the work you just have to clean basically and the work is not that hard, they usually ask you for 4h per day but sometimes is even less and when you finish you just able to do whatever you want. Also they provide some rice so you can cook there and save money ♥️ Thank you Rika for everything! You're so kind and always trying to communicate with us in English as better as you can!

Hiroshima is such a great city to spend more time! Also, the facilities in the hostel are all pretty good, quite clean and new. The location is quite good as well, since there are a lot of things to do and places to go within a walking distance.

This was my first experience. I'm so glad I did this! Like others said, the work can be challenging and you will generally work 11-3 for housekeeping; however, you can finish early. The environment is great, everyone's sweet and supportive. Everyone there genuinely felt like life-long friends from the start.

It was in a well located place and very high ranked guesthouse. I enjoyed my stay. It was very comfortable and super clean if I compare to other hostels. Cleaning job was difficult than other volunteer jobs I have ever been. For me the hardest part was the changing the beds bc of the small space. But otherwise doing the job with more than one person made it easier. I was there in winter time. I got sick bc while doing the job I was sweating but then freezing. I talked about this problem with the host. They were really helpful.

From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, everything was very pleasant. The people I shared with are very kind and had the patience to teach and help. I highly recommend it!

Such a great experience!! It was my first time using worldpackers and they were really patient and helpful during the application process when I had questions about how it would work! The atmosphere in the hostel was relaxed and welcoming, and the work was straightforward and well explained :) I would absolutely work here again!

This is my first time doing volunteer and I could say that it is a wonderful experience! I was able to roam around and explore the beauty of what Hiroshima offers. The staff members there were so friendly and gave me tips about what's useful or helpful in Japan, working there wasn't that exhausting and was able to negotiate about the schedule that they've given me. The place is also a plus 'cause it's near the main station in Hiroshima which made it easier for me to go to other prefectures and see more cities of Japan. All in all, would recommend this awesome place.

Volunteering at the guest house was amazing! I worked with lovely people and they were so nice to me. I can only speak English and they can speak Japanese and a little bit English. This was no problem at all. Hiroshima is a small city but really nice. The work is 3-4 hours of cleaning. In the beginning i had to get used to it but in no time its easy. Special thank to Ryoko she is so sweet and always tries to help you. Also her cooking is amazing!

Working at Aki was a great way to improve my Japanese and meet many new and interesting people during my summer holiday. The cleaning might be a little exhausting for some, but working at the reception is pretty enjoyable as you get to talk to many different people. The facilities are clean and pleasant, the host and other staff make you feel welcome and I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in a local environment.
