I stayed for two weeks at the shelter and it was a unique experience. The staff and the volunteers work together in a very structured and diligent way to ensure the welfare of the animals. I volunteered here for two weeks and it was amazing. The people here are very nice and welcoming and the dogs are amazing!!!Playing and having walks with them is very nice. It was a beautiful and very emotional experience. ARA is a very difficult place to quit. Thank you for these 2 weeks!!😁

It was the first time i volunteered abroad. There are really nice and carring people. They really try to make sure that everyone feels safe, dogs, cats, (goats), voulnteers. There you gonna meet many lovly people and after the first vew days it is reall, easy to conect to others. The town is just a 20 minut walk away so you can use the time inbetween your shifts to go there. The work is easy to do. I loved to take care of the dogs (and the cats) and see how made progress in the time i went there

ARA is an incredible place! The staff is wonderful, welcoming from the beginning and very helpful. The work is doable and always done with a smile, thanks to the company. An incredible experience, everyone's love for animals is undeniable, the structure is also excellent and they are all well looked after. The schedules are well defined and respected, and the work is a little hard, but very fast and rewarding! My heart was broken leaving the cats!

This is my 2nd time at ARA and has been magical as usual. This place is so special, the staff are so welcoming and kind, and always there to help. The facilities are fantastic for volunteers. There is such a great balance and you get lots of free time to lay by pool, explore Loulé and on days off you can explore further afield. The work is physical, its dirty but its so so rewarding. Its no surprise volunteers return every year, I know I will be. This place is beautiful, rewarding, very special place that steals your heart ♥ thank you again ARA x

Ich habe im Juni 2 Wochen bei ARA verbracht und kann einen work exchange dort nur wärmstens empfehlen. Die Arbeit mit den Tieren macht viel Spaß, da man wirklich merkt, dass die Tiere die Mühe und Arbeit sehr wertschätzen, was einem ein gutes Gefühl gibt. Der Arbeitsaufwand ist sehr machbar (mit den Tieren kuscheln ist z.B. auch Teil der Arbeit). Das Gelände selbst und die Gegend um das Tierheim herum ist außerdem auch super schön. An freien Tagen kann man eine Menge unternehmen, da viele schöne Orte in der Nähe liegen. Ich freue mich auf den Tag, an dem ich mal wieder kommen kann!

We absolutely loved our time at ARA, it's such a special place! They are the nicest people and the work is so much fun to do! We fell in love with all the animals and made great friends. You will have lots of free time where you can go to Loulé, to the beach or make whole day trips. It's inspiring and impressive how much effort and love they put in their work. It was a wonderful experience. The people and staff you meet there are incredibly friendly and kind. The accommodation and the animals are not only beautiful but also very precious. I fell in love with the cats and will be adopting three – a lovely memory of Ara and a great opportunity to bring joy to the animals. When you go there, you will definitely fall in love with the place and the animals.
