I totally recommend the hostel! The job is super simple and volunteers have plenty of time off. the hostel is a peaceful and lovely city, with many cultural activities and beautiful nature. The staff is attentive and super flexible, giving me days off when I needed it. I made a lot of friends from all over the world. This was my first volunteering experience and it sure was a great place to start.

The whole experience is about meeting people, starting with the fact that there are 11 volunteers. The volunteers create this whole family environment, which makes this experience special, fun, happy and chill. There is a games room, which is far away from the rooms and looks private, where you can hangout with other people, put some music on and play pool and some instruments, but there's also a TV room, where the volunteers always watch movies, listen to music, chat and eat "good food". 🤭 The facilities are clean and kitchen fully equipped.

In general I had a good experience at the hostel, the staff and the other volunteers were very nice, but they could improve the staff room, all volunteers stay in the same room, which has poor lighting and only 1 window

The experience was nice. the work is short which gives you the opportunity to get to know the surrounding cities during the afternoon. all of the volunteer team were friends, great to meet new people. the volunteer room should receive more attention and be improved

My stay in the hostel was the most wonderful time i could imagine. everyone was so kind and made the cold days warmer. they treated me like an old time friend and we shared beautifull times together, cooking, going out and watching movies :) Scotland is a magical place and from the hostel you can pretty much go everywhere, and as you have free days you can really explore around! Logistically everything went perfectly, the job is very easy and fair and the staff is very flexible. A big thanks to Chris and Virgine, Hervé and Adrian for your kindness! BIG hug to all and to Raff as well :)

I liked my stay at the DBH very much. Working hours were always as agreed before and the people there made the work very enjoyable. I'll miss working and talking with you all so easily, it really was an experience I'd recommend to everyone who thinks about applying… ;) Alright, hopefully we'll see again next year. See you then…

Such a fun experience! The tasks were always what was agreed upon, and there was plenty of time and flexibility to explore other parts of Scotland. Everyone was nice and welcoming! It was a super cozy place to volunteer :)

This was my first volunteer experience and it couldn't have been better. Hervé and Chris are the best hosts and have great communication with the whole team, which is also made up of amazing people. I can't wait to go back. Thank you all!
